Fate on AO3
In the end, there is no choice, no hesitation, only pure luck. Geralt could be dying among stone, in a city, tied to some manmade machine that Jaskier has no power over.
Instead, he’s bleeding out his life on a meadow, under the bright spring sun, amidst thousands of swaying dandelions. And maybe it isn’t luck after all.
Maybe it’s fate. Maybe they were always going to end up here.
Jaskier plunges his hands to the ground, digs deep into the black earth amidst the roots, lets them break through his carefully erected barriers. Like water, his magic flows free.
