Monroe wakes to the sound of hammering. 

He finds the Grimm in the garden. Nick launches into an explanation without waiting to be asked. 

“I got all these herb seeds, there was a display at the supermarket and I thought, ‘Monroe loves cooking’.” He gets up, swiping dirt off his knees, a visual Monroe is absolutely not going to dwell on. “Then I realised you didn’t have anywhere to plant them so…” Nick gestures at one finished window box, the other one half done. 

“That’s…” Thoughtful. Wonderful. Devastatingly close to a courting gift. “Thank you,” Monroe says. “I’ll make coffee.”
