Years ago pushkin666, dreamersdare and I wrote a little P!ATD round-robin and then this year pushkin666 decided to expand it into a full on series that is full of yearning and hurt and one of the most romantic things I have ever read. I was clutching my heart the entire time. The language alone is worth the read even if you don't care about the fandom. The description of the magic and how it winds through nature and hearts is breathtaking. There is a happy OT4 ending but it's earned the hard way. Highly recced! Wow Kat, what's that sound? Well, glad you asked. It's the sound of me SMASHING through my 75k getyourwordsout goal! BOOM! We're currently >78k and there's still a day to go.

Much of the words came from a) co-writing done with dreamersdare and b) because I churned over 24k for Spooktober fics/ficlets, even if some of that churning happened after Christmas lol. Posting most of them back-to-back was a really interesting experience actually and I have some reflections.

I was always going to do a Spooktober Masterlist for my own amusement. I know I'm about to list all of these for the 2023 Fic Round Up soon (well... Finally, I wanted to flail about being podficced!!

The lovely pezzax_podfics podficced under his wing (TXT, Choi Soobin/Choi Yeonjun) and turned a tiny ficlet into a full-blown audio drama with music and sound effects and it is so, so extremely cool I absolutely lost mine when listening. Also, please appreciate the cover art! (akdkjsj wings!)

The most awesome pieces0fstars podficced Volcano (Stray Kids, Han Jisung/Lee Minho) and holy shit the emotional impact the recording packs... Look, I obviously had a lot of emotions about the concepts which I wrote immediately after the song dropped. But the thing is, I wrote the fic so I knew what was in the fucker and yet, YET, I was absolutely choked up, clutching my heart, because the performance got that exact frayed, desperate edge I tried to convey in words and... Yeah, please listen.

Technically it's is not the past all shadow but that's definitely because it got caught in some random bot and has over 23k of hits which is implausible for a Lewis gen fic.

A more realist result is where the street have no name with over 9k hits, a Grimm Nick/Monroe undercover as a prostitute romp

Reformation, the Good Omens Aziraphale/Crowley fic a I wrote well before the TV-adaptation was even a rumour but that received most of its 1.2k of kudos within weeks of season 1 airing when everyone was desperaterely looking for content

Black Lotus Club with 102 comments (of which half are my replies obvs). This is a Guardian, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan 'undercover at a bdsm!club fic' that I wrote because it's mostly the dynamic I want to read in every fandom.

Fac Mihi Viam, my Harry Potter, Harry & Sirius gen dark horse of a fic that has 384 bookmarks (of which 268 are public, it is still top that way too) that wildly exceeded all expectations I had re reception of it

There are two fics co-authored with pushkin666 that are at the top here:

Spoonful of Sunday is an extremely self-indulgent Alan Davies/Stephen Fry QI RPF coffee shop AU that we wrote largely to amuse ourselves that comes at over 40k

Bite the Night is a terribly cliched and rather smutty Strictly Craig/Bruno werewolf fic of over 26k. I regret nothing.

The longest single-authored fic however is I'm Your Man which is also over 26k of d/s flavoured Will/Ethan Mission: Impossible shy shenanigans.
