Time for Swowflake Challenge #3



This was one asked me who I "would most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know?"

Okay, generally I'm NOT keen on idea of actually meeting real people I admire. So for example, there's a part of me that would fucking love to hang out with Lin-Manuel Miranda and hear about his creative process. Can you imagine going to the theatre with him? Detailed commentary! He seems genuinely warm and fun and like he would probably give awesome hugs. However, there is also a bigger part of me that is kind of cringing in mortification because my crush on that man's brain (and rest of him) is not small and what if I made things awkward oh god?

Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara from Buzzfeed Unsolved/The Watcher, however, cause no cringing. Maybe because they are ridiculous boys? (and so youngggg) So, yes, would absolutely sign-up for an evening of ghost hunting them at one of the castles or manors that litter the English countryside.

Oh, and also, a night out in West End and Soho with Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli? Yes, would enjoy.

Fictional character wise... Karaoke with the Glee kids? Academic conference with Shen Wei, Bruce Banner. Leonard McCoy, Rodney McKay, Radek Zelenka and Carson Beckett (please, just want to watch them intellectually slay everyone). (Tony got invited but he's probably flying with Sheppard and Kirk, while Zhao Yunlan is challenging them all into some kind of leaning/slouching competition to see who can look the sluttiest against a flat surface). Quiet pint with Jimmy and Duncan from Shetland, and then another with Lewis and Hathaway (okay but now I'm thinking that James and Duncan would hit it off because of the music, why is this not a crossover that exists?). Picnic with Aziraphale and Crowley. Orgy Dinner ORGY AND THEN DINNER with everyone from Sense8. Girls' night in with Tilly from Star Trek Discovery. Every single meal with the Hobbits? Clothes shopping with David Rose.

Phew. Okay, probably should stop there :D

Generally the idea of meeting celebrities makes me feel nothing but awkward though there are some exceptions. I'm not the type to seek it out (I observe fans who tag creators/actors etc on Twitter with a mix of awe and horror) but if the opportunity arose I would not turn it down either.

You and I share a brain more often than is recommended, I feel. I also opted for ghost-hunting with Ryan and Shane, and lunch with Aziraphale and Crowley (although, to hell with picnicing; I'm going to the Ritz!)

The idea of you going out with Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli is delighting me. What a fantastic answer. I know Craig plays up his stern face'ness in Strictly but everywhere else he seems so friendly and lovely. The same way Bruno would be much more sensible than his persona, as shown when he took control of the points disaster of a few years ago.

So yes, I agree, they would be great company.

That academic conference sounds AMAZING and I want to sit in the back with a glass of wine and listen to the raging science happening around me. Because you know with Rodney there there is not going to be a normal level of conversation to be had.

Yes, that's exactly my reasoning! Would derive much vicarious joy from watching all of them carve a swathe of intellectual superiority through some obnoxious stuck-ups. So satisfying. It's an interesting group, because there are the loud ones (Rodney, Bones) and the quiet ones (Shen Wei, Zelenka, Banner) so like a pronged attack :D

Good choices on those that I recognise. You could sit on the side of the Thames with Lewis and hathaway and have something that isn't beer :). I like your idea of having a whole day with your people rather than just one. And I know how you don't like meeting these people in real life although you managed okay when I got us meet and greet with FOB :)

Yeah, might just be a pint of lime and soda :D Just sitting in a pub feels like a distant memory...

I managed because alternative was to miss out on an opportunity! This is a strong motivator for me, the 'only regret things you haven't done' but is also reason why I often say 'yes' when I should say 'no'.
