American Idol

(This Is) Not a Statement - Adam/Kris. This fic is to blame for how late this final rec post is. I swear I only meant to skim it quickly for rec-writing purposes but instead I got completely sucked into reading again from start to finish for what I think is at least the fourth time. This is a long, slow falling in love story where the relationship is so organic that like the characters you're not sure exactly where that shift from friends playing to something more actually happens. Bonus points for the beautiful, subtle d/s dynamic that is simply there as a normal part of the everyday relationship. Highly recced.



Bandom

I've Got Your Number One Bullet Right Here, Baby - Patrick/Pete. Ah, oldie but goodie. The pre-show ritual of watching porn kind of messes with Patrick's head... Delicious and hot first-time bunk sex ensues. Patrick/Pete is my ultimate bandom otp and this fic gives me such happy fluffies.

You make me feel so --  - Ryan/Spencer. Post-break up fix-it fic, a sub-genre I have particular fondness for. Spencer is getting anonymous gifts. Except there's only one person who would know what to send... Layered and hot.



Lewis

each to each - Hathaway/Lewis. On the surface this is an 'undercover as a couple for a case' fic. Scratch beyond that and there is an incredible blend of realism and lyricism that just draws you into the moment and holds you there. There is such shocking, aching sense of intimacy to this story that it took my breath away.

Moments In Time - Hathaway/Lewis. A lovely selection of snippets with accompanying music, that perfectly capture some key moments in Robbie's life. Great atmosphere and sense of time, the song selection is perfect.

No Less Human - Hathaway/Lewis. James is taken with a handsome subject and Lewis finds himself rather annoyed at that... Jealousy and a most satisfying resolution.

Semi-Skimmed - Hathaway^Lewis. This is a lovely fic of James pushing through all of Robbie's walls, with a lot of great little details (the moment of realisation in Tesco in particular). Gorgeous read that felt very true to the characters.

The Hermit Crab - Hathaway/Lewis. Newly established relationship fic where Robbie finds it a little difficult to adjust to being in a relationship with another man, and having other people know it. This is a lovely fic that explores the generation gap between the two characters that would surely manifest in ways like these.



Sherlock

A Cure For Boredom - John/Sherlock, John/many many others. Once you've been in fandom for a while, you'll find yourself skipping the sex scenes for the simple reason that so many of them become... boring, repetitive, not actually adding anything to the story. So to find a fic that is essentially one sex scene after another, and almost 77k long, and yet doesn't once lose my interest once, is pretty amazing. Sherlock and John become regulars at a sex club where John has a lot of sex (with some awesome and fully fleshed - pun not intended - original characters, male and female) while Sherlock mostly... watches. Very, very hot, and a very, very engrossing read.



Star Trek (Reboot)

Schoolboys - Chekov/Sulu, Chekov/Kirk, Chekov/McCoy, Sulu/Kirk, Kirk/McCoy. Ugh, schoolboy and teacher role play porn, written for st_xi_kink_meme (so scroll down a bit to the get to the relevant comments). Oh Christ almighty, this is one of the filthiest, hottest pieces of porn I've read in a long time. I highly recommend that not only do you read this, but that you reserve a cold drink and/or some private time for when you do...

The sex scenes did get very repetitive after a while, but I don't skip them, lol.

It's very hard for me to read fics where John and Sherlock have sex with other people, I want them to be only interested in each other and to only have sex with each other, but I heard about this fic before so I think I'll give it a chance.

I know what you mean, I have certain pairings where I find it difficult to read them with other people. However, 'a cure for boredom' is worth it as the emotional connection between Sherlock and John is very strong. And all the original characters are great.

I LOVE when you do this. Because of you, I've read stuff in fandoms I'm not part of and enjoyed it (I am apparently a Brendon/Spencer shipper...despite not knowing who either of those people are.) so thank you for taking the time to compile these lists. I really appreciate and enjoy them.
