I'm having a mental health weekend, which has mostly consisted mostly of sweet f.a. [livejournal.com profile] trialia and I had a 80s movie night on Friday and watched Lost Boys, The Breakfast Club and Batteries Not Included. 'twas awesome and now I want to write filthy wrong Michael/Sam fic for Lost Boys and some d/s flavoured Andy/John for The Breakfast Club. I'm not saying I will, just that I want to.

I have made 40 icons for the [livejournal.com profile] evilsam_spn Summer of Evil challenge and am also trying to finish a drabble series for the same thing. I have not yet seen the new Supernatural, but the reactions from the flist suggest I should not watch it when already emo?

To cheer myself up I watched the Season 6 gag reel again.

The Lonely Island and Michael Bolton singing about Jack Sparrow also helps with that. *giggles*

Doctor Who: Just... o_____________O *flaps hands*

Glee: Hmmm... a bit meh about the first ep in general but Blaine's red trousers + that song confirm that Darren Criss = happy Kat.

What else... I made berry tart! It was nom even if I do say so myself.

This made me tear up (in a good way): Portraits of gay couples just married in New York

This made me laugh: Stay Down - Dreamwidth/Livejournal, Dreamwidth/Livejournal/InsanejournalLivejournal ficlet - pure genius, pure truth.

Speaking of fic recs, I have accumulated quite a few again. Which means another Kat Recs All The Fics week is looming in the future. Not this week though, but possibly after that.

Finally, interspecies friendship makes everything better: otter & dog playing together and another similar pair (mute this vid, there is no need for the music) - yeah, currently lost in youtube vids about otters being awesome, I feel this is a valid way to spend my Sunday.

ikr, interspecies friendship gives me the happy fuzzies. As does all those folks being all in love and married <3

YES REALLY! You know that scene where Bender gets like 15 detentions, because every time the creepy teacher asks if he's finished, Bender is all 'not even a little bit, give me another one' and my mind just went 'wonder if that's how he sounds when he's spanked.' and '...huh, wow, he kind of just wants to be punished because it means someone's paying attention and that means they care.' and well, the teacher is just NOT A GOOD CHOICE, BECAUSE, WOW, CREEPY AND ABUSIVE MUCH? And then I was all 'how about if Andy learned to make some choices of his own?' and. Well. There was some tension there, definitely.

Butting in here: You know that scene where Bender gets like 15 detentions, because every time the creepy teacher asks if he's finished, Bender is all 'not even a little bit, give me another one' and my mind just went 'wonder if that's how he sounds when he's spanked.' and '...huh, wow, he kind of just wants to be punished because it means someone's paying attention and that means they care.' and well, the teacher is just NOT A GOOD CHOICE, BECAUSE, WOW, CREEPY AND ABUSIVE MUCH? And then I was all 'how about if Andy learned to make some choices of his own?' and. Well. There was some tension there, definitely.

Not to mention that whole thing was to prove to Andy that he didn't care and that nothing could phase him and OMG! you need to write that shit!

:DDDDDDD I see I'm not alone in this interpretation of the events.

Let's not forget about this:
Andrew: Look, you guys keep up your talking and Vernon's gonna come right in here. I got a meet this Saturday and I'm not gonna miss it on account of you boneheads.
Bender: Oh, and wouldn't that be a bite, huh? Missing a whole wrestling meet!
Andrew: You wouldn't know anything about it, faggot! You never competed in your whole life!
Bender: Oh, I know. I feel all empty inside because of it. I have such a deep admiration for guys who roll around on the floor with other guys.
Andrew: Ah, you'd never make it. You don't have any goals
Bender: Oh, but I do!
Andrew: Yeah?
Bender: I wanna be just... like... you. I figure all I need is a lobotomy and some tights!

And the way he shows off his cigarette burn like 'see what I can take?'

Haha I had to like read the entire post to figure out what you were even talking about and yeah no, no I haven't :D I do have copy of the movie now though (because N hasn't seen it which is a travesty) so who knows, maybe i'll get inspired...

Yes, yes, clearly you do. It's like defining film for the 80s youth culture. Also: young Judd Nelson being all badass and vulnerable.

Heh, you mean my interpretation of Bender's motives there? Years of higher education and psychology have not been wasted then... *g*

Hah, it makes a change from all the bitching and whining and emoting I usually do I guess? But who can stay grumpy in the face of all those happy photos of people in love? Not me.

that sounds like an amazing weekend!I wish I could have spent my weekend relaxing but money-making calls. I loved the crop of wedding pictures you posted. I hadn't seen that collection yet although living in New York I've seen lots of happy newly wed pictures over the last two months and it never fails to make me tear up a little.

plus berry tart sounds amazing.

Interspecies friendships are one of my favourite things ever. I mean, just, *incomprehensible flail*

God, that Jack Sparrow music video will never not be hilarious.

Ikr, just so happy-making and, idk, life-affirming, as cheesy as that sounds.

Michael Bolton will never not be hilarious. My favourite bit is the one where he has "coke" smeared all over his face.

I am so far behind. I didn't even know Glee was back on the air! This is what I get for only watching t.v. when my shows are on.

So is season three looking like it's going to be at the season two level of general MEH or is it back to the season one level of "YAY! That sucks. D: YAY!" ?

Hmm, after watching the first two episodes I'm forced to say is more the 'meh, followed by occasional yay moments'. Show better give me some story lines with characters I actually care about, soon.
