[profile] sugaration asked a very pertinent question regarding the latest episode of ITV's Primeval: Is that a Spice Girls mug Stephen is drinking from while Helen writhes naked in his bed?

Here's Stephen, not appearing too impressed with Helen's blatant attempts at manipulation (let's face it, Nick looks much better naked between the sheets).

But let's not get distracted. It's the mug we wanted to look at more closely. A little bit of clarification and...

So for comparison:

The only difference here is that the picture is higher up in Stephen's mug, otherwise they seem to be the same.

In conclusion: Primeval = even more cractastic than you thought.

*coughs up a lung*

Now I totally want the fic where Stephen takes Cutter home, and gives Cutter coffee in the Spice Girls mug. (Speaking of fic, did I mention I've finally finished the Robin Hood/His Dark Materials AU? \o/!).

eeew, lungs. *mops the floor*

OMG GIMME! Send right over for beta, I can do that this weekend... \o/

Also speaking of fic, should I post the AR fic that's ready (the one with all the scratches) soonish?

I was going to ask if you were still okay to beta. I'll send it over now, but I warn you: it's not very good.

OMG YES YOU SHOULD. If it's ready to go, then go for it! \o/!!

omg, Sophie why do you make me cry so? Seriously, the fic is awesome (I had to read it straightaway), I'll beta it hopefully next weekend.

I'll post the AR fic then too I think.

A-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!
Oh, that is so good. I missed that!

I'm now imagining what their Spice Girl names would be... (like porno names with added glitter and crack)

I totally missed it too, but thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sugaration's eagle eyes I now have pictorial proof of the crazy crack this show brings.

LMAO! Spice names... so wrong, yet so right.

Someone involved in this show has a fangirl mind or an evil sense of humour...
Oh, sorry - that's a tautology isn't it? ALL fangirl's have evil senses of humour! *g*

I may have just pushed the crack on my lj... I may have come up with some names as well...

And I may have wet myself a little bit laughing at the spice names...

I spot the crack, you find pictorial evidence - now that's what I call teamwork.

It's all entirely too telling of my 1990's tweenage Spice Girls obsession and apparent over-familiarity with their merchandising. I knew it'd come in handy one day.

Spice Girls + itv's prop department = furthering the cracktasticness of Primeval.

I'm struggling through writing a cv at the moment, and now I'm fighting the urge to include 'proven aptitude for spotting 1990's pop memorabilia in television shows' to the skills section.

Ah, the life of a fangirl.

teamwork FTW! We are invincible!

Ahahaha, I have to admit never really being too much into the Spice Girls as possibly I was too old already when they were at the height of their popularity.

I pretty much love whoever at ITV's prop department came up with this...

Most. Hilarious. Thing. EVER!!!!!!

Prop guy: "Oh crap, I forgot to buy a mug for Stephen to hold in this scene."

Prop guy's fangirl assistant: "Not to worry, you can borrow this one from my desk... *grins evilly*"

James Murray: "WTF??????????!!!!!!!!!!"

Dropping into one of your old posts - I found it ages ago while I was lurking in the Primeval fandom and loved it (I didn't even notice what was on the mug when I first saw the ep because I was too busy staring at Stephen...). I'm now working on a Stephen flat meme for Primeval Denial (posting it on 20th), and I'd like to include a link to this in my meme - would that be OK?

////let's face it, Nick looks much better naked between the sheets////

LOL - you've got that exactly right! Nick/Stephen, my OTP.

Oh wow, this is an old post :D But hello, nice of you to pop in. And yes, of course you are welcome to link this. I look forward to checking out the meme, because every time I think of Primeval now my first reaction is 'STILL BITTER ABOUT STEPHEN, DAMMIT' :D

Thank you for the link permission and re the meme!

////'STILL BITTER ABOUT STEPHEN, DAMMIT' :D////

Me too. I stopped watching Primeval regularly after Season 2 because of what happened, but I'm still in the fandom writing N/S fix-its *G*

No worries at all. I did enjoy Primeval even after, mainly because of Connor and my weakness for geeky boys, but it wasn't the same no. I recently watched a multi fandom vid that used THAT SCENE (with the window, and their faaaaaaaaaces) quite unexpectedly and it still hurt dammit.
