But on positive side, I have pushkin666 and dreamersdare in my living room and I have committed Some Words.

Including finishing 12k of Shetland, Jimmy/Duncan ridiculousness. Is... Would... Maybe... Beta? You? You beta this? Because you generous and kind and know comma and grammar things? Yes?

OH! Gallstones. Misery. I didn't even know I had 'em until I had to have my gall bladder removed. But it certainly explained some weird episodes of nausea over the years. (Like the time I ate escargot and vomited all night.)

I've known I had them for a few years but so far they have been asymptomatic. But, the last week or so I had what I'm pretty sure two episodes of biliary colic. Was not fun. But so far no repeats...

God, it's a good thing that I'm generally mentally robust, or I feel the cummulative guilt that would arise from my destructive bumbling through the world would be overwhelming :D

However, yay, wordssssssssssseeeeeeeeessssssssss. The precioussssssssssseeeeeeeesssssss. Even if weird wordses in fandoms I have never heard of before you told me about them. Still wordses.

(Also, stop telling me about fandoms, dammit. Specifically stop telling about weird Youtube based RPF fandoms about which I am now having distracting thinky thoughts. Goddammit.)

Thank you! This fangirl weekend of good company, good food, writing and laughter has been Very Good for the Soul. I even managed to make some head way with all my auction fics. Shetland fic with beta, should be ready to post by the deadline :D Whoo, glad I have at least one reader! All you need to know is that the guys are co-parents because Duncan is the biological father, and Jimmy married his ex who then died a few years before the canon. They're very different but have had to get on because of Cassie (who in canon heads of to university and then Brazil so isn't a child any more). Also, canonically, Duncan moved in with Jimmy for a bit while his current marriage was on the rocks... I've taken a divergence from there :D

Glad Marg stepped up to beta the Shetland fic - I haven't actually got time just at the moment though I was going to see if anyone else offered and then offer but point out it might involve delay.

Maybe your shower and bin and so on are on strike in solidarity with your gallstones?

All fingers crossed we (that's Colin and I plus Gail and Jamie) are going for a week's staycation in a Dorset cottage next Saturday.

They've been asymptomatic for several years but definitely had two episodes within a week, though thankly none since. I don't eat a tons of fatty food anyway so that's probably keeping them at bay.

Shetland fic has been emailed to Marg. I have also made some progress with all my auction fics this weekend so that's good. Going to keep working on them for the rest of the week.

Ordering new bin (£38!!) and shower hose/head are on the to do list for today...

I hope your Dorset get away works out! Sounds lovely. Give my love to all!

There's a kind of cumulative effect of Things Going Wrong from the last two years, including big things (forced house move, dad dying, oh pandemic too) and small annoyances like the ones I listed and I'm maybe approaching some kind of tipping point and it'll probably be something small that does it...

My astrology app (I don't really believe in that, but it can be a reflective tool and this one is hilariously brutal and I kind of love it) told me yesterday that "you're conflating emotional placidity with emotional stability, when has that ever helped" and I've rarely felt quite that called out :D
