This is not the proper update you are looking for... But a very brief Sunday ramble.

House&Life: new washing machine is a dream, I have mastered the drill and put up (with some assistance) curtain railingins LIKE A BOSS, we are fast approaching the 'will take pictures to post' state of housing. Cats have been going out a lot and coming back every time. Unnecessary amount of spiders though, bleugh.

Fandom, part 1: Have fallen into a hole called Guardian which is Chinese supernatural drama that provides the kind emotionally satisfying m/m romance at the centre of it that I've only previous found in fanfic. I blame mekare and rheasilvia whose intro post got me intrigued enough. If you like sould bonds and meaningful glances and ridiculous plots and tucking each other to sleep and identity porn this is for you. All on Youtube with (occasionally also hilarious but in a good way) English subtitles.

Fandom part 2: I got so many lovely things on my fandom_stocking post, including two delightful bandom fics, a glorious Mal/Jayne Firefly fic that hit all my buttons, icons, recipes, links, pretties... So verklempt and grateful.

Fandom part 3: Been to see Mary Poppins Returns, and adored it. I have many feelings about Lin-Manuel Miranda, his eyes and my deep, deep need to see him as a romantic lead more. Also went to see Spiderverse which was amazing (apiphile, you didn't oversell it even a little) and deserves all the awards for the animation.

Fandom part 4: Umbrella Academy trailer!!! May be enough for me to break my Netflix resistance and take advantage of that 'you can borrow my logins' offer I've got. Looks so goooooooooooooood.

Good luck with the house (ugh spiders, can your cats catch and eat them? Ours used to catch and then play with them, only sometimes eating them.)

I don't know if writing would happen... Although if I end up accidentally tripping into the 100 fandoms thing, it might have to!

Spiders are the long-legged house ones that mostly reside in the corner of the ceiling so out of way of cats and mostly me. I can tolerate them but would vastly prefer them not to be there and if they break the rules by running or getting too big or being a face height I usually end up killing them even though I feel bad about it.

I am determinedly Not Working this weekend and focusing on unfucking my habitat some more. Upstairs is almost where I want it. Today's list is: getting Christmas decorations down (done), vacuuming downstairs, changing tablecloths, tidying living room and kitchen surfaces (partly done) and hanging up more pictures and postcards.

Guardian is my current brain/eye candy watching. You have to embrace the overacting, the drama and ridiculous plots though.

100 fandoms isn't too much of a stretch as a) I'v already written in like ~40 or so different ones and one could e.g. treat each band as separate one :D, and b) talking drabbles/ficlets at most. So tempted.

Haha, dark!Patrick can definitely count for the purposes of this meme! This is a 'I Guess' for reading and 'FUCK yes' for writing... I enjoye writing dark fic/twisted characters way, way more than I enjoy reading that kind of fic.

Yay for cats coming home and for curtain rails going up and Christmas decorations coming down. Yay for washing machine, too.

Our fandoms are clearly drifting apart. I don't know your new ones, and haven't time to explore, having fallen down a rabbit hole myself. The Crimson Rivers (another French cop drama this time with vague nods to the supernatural). Actually, I looked at the French title and the word pourpre translates as purple, but I suppose that didn't give a sufficiently gory connotation for a Brit audience.

I think I would probably enjoy your French cop dramas (supernatural elements or now) but those sort of things rarely get me fannish in 'must create something' sense. Like I really liked Bodyguard (BBC series) but have zero urge for fic or art or even an icon on it.

Working on tidying downstairs at the moment. Christmas tablecloths going to the wash... Photos within a few weeks I reckon, need more hooks to hang things up first though and some picture frames too.

Well I'm going to go with sentinel verse as I've been reading quite a bit of that in the last couple of days. Also do you know of any bandom sentinel fic?

Sentinel trope gets a 'FUCK yes!' from me. But, like with d/s fic, I tend to have ~Opinions~ on who is the Guide and who the Sentinel so that has to match, and I still need it to be slow burn because instant fucking is a bit meh.

I don't remember reading any Bandom sentinel fic... It must exist though, surely?

Ugh... now I want to write fic about Pete who always thought he was too damaged and messed up because of his own mental health issues to be any good as anyone's Guide... until...

Which is funny considering the one sentinel fic we were writing went straight into the sex with soul searching afterwards. Most unlike us.

My take is 'FUCK yes'! It encompasses all my love for 'mutual pining' and is often coupled with the 'from friends to lovers' trope which is the YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW level of yyyyy for me. Bandom delivers this with the added 'let's do it for publicity cos stage gay sells and now we have moral misgivings and also can't let the baby gay fans down and look I also have some... feelings' as well as the 'fuck the homophobes, let's do it for the queers' angle, both of which I ENJOY A LOT.

Gaaaaaaaaaah... You don't understand. I HAVE NO TIME! But the whole thing APPEALS TO ME SO MUCH. But I would also be perfectionist about it and not count the ~40 fandoms I've already ficced in and insist on starting from a blank slate. *gnaws knuckles*

Mutual Pinis = OH GOD, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. Encompassess all sorts of things that appeal to me and if this is paired with 'from friends to lovers' I will want to roll around it in like a pig in shit.

Temporary gender swap = I dunno... This doesn't massively appeal, and I tend to skip fics with this, though I have read a couple of very good ones. 'always a different gender' can be very good on the other hand although I don't typically go looking for that either.

Mutual pining is my sweet spot in fic. Someone bookmarked by POI fic and just labelled it "John pines."

I'm always interested in people's thoughts on gender swap, temporary or otherwise. The only time I attempted it, the temporary version, I think I did it wrong in that Gene Hunt remained Gene Hunt just with different bits.

I totally get it as I'm currently in the same situation while trying to declutter at the same time. The little bit of writing time I might have is mainly spent dozing in a chair.

Pining is my fan fic catnip -- probably part of the reason I was drawn to him in the first place.

It was fun having Ray fancy him and having Gene punch Ray. My idea of fun might be a little off. :D

Oooh, interesting choice. I think this averages at 'i rather not' for me, but depends on the reason and how permanent/temporary. Like complete permanent amnesia doesn't really appeal but if it's a gradual recovery from trauma where memories/person slowly comes back to themselves, that's enjoyable. Possession by another entity again if permanent isn't something I enjoy but could work as a plot device where there's happy ending, even if in form of contented symbiosis :D

Washing machine is a must. I've done the laundrette rumba before but wouldn't want to try it when full time working, would eat too much into already precious free hours.

Oooh, good choice! 'X Made Them Do It' is a 'Yes' for me. Generally positive about the concept and have read some very good sex pollen fics in my time but a lot depends on the execution. I enjoy the 'trying to resist' or 'one person affected, the other desperately trying not to take advantage' side with lots of feelings.

\o/ RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! I'm on episode 18 and have pimped it to several people (with varying success) and trying to resist the lure of writing fic or starting to make icons SO BADLY. You should definitely watch the end of ep 6 and then ep 7 because there is a beautiful scene there that involves rubbing and linement...

Me and the cats are okay, but the lates issue is plumbing and the pipes from upstairs toilet flooding over so now waiting for some extensive works for that... 'Settled' is a bit too optimistic.
