kat_lairThank you for various people on my F-list for pointing this out. I thought I'd pass it on.
LJ is starting to track some of its users (a random sampling) and collect information on what browser you're using, what site scheme you use, your window size, how people travel through the site (what are the common links, where are people going after viewing their friends page, what people are or aren't clicking on), and things like how many page views different parts of the site get. More here.
You can opt out:
For personal LJ - Go to the Admin Console. Copy-paste in command "set opt_exclude_stats 1" without the quotation marks. Click 'execute'.
For communities you admin - Go to the Admin Console. Copy-paste in command "set for communityname opt_exclude_stats 1" without the quotation marks. Click 'execute'.
