Hello Darlings,

Yes I am still alive, just very embroiled in writing (which is going well) and sorting out my research (which is not going well) so apologies for probably missing a lot of exciting things on your journals. I will attempt to catch up at some point but if you think there is something that I really must read and comment on, please tell me so.

In the meanwhile, I will bring you a little original ficlet that has just been published in the Gay Flashfiction online zine.

Title: Not-a-Day
Author: Mistress Kat / [personal profile] kat_lair
Fandom: Original slash fic
Pairing/Category: Michael/Danny, mood piece
Rating: PG
Word count: ~670
Disclaimer: All mine, hands off.
Summary: Time stops when you’re flying.

Author notes: Before anyone cries nepotism, I would like to point out that while [personal profile] moth2fic is indeed one of the editors of the Zine and my good friend, “Not-a-day” was handled and approved by other people whom I don’t know. Though it is entirely due to her gentle nagging that I wrote and submitted it in the first place. You all should go and do the same. The story was partly inspired by a song [personal profile] wliberation gave me and I listened on repeat for two weeks. It may be obvious to her which one I’m talking about.

Read “Not-a-day” on the online zine. (easily found under "stories"). After that read all the other stories too.

oooh v. exciting. I will give more comprehensive review one I get around to reading,

but I need to ask you for help for my dissertation project as I think you have you fingers in several fandom pies! (not in the dirty sense! well maybe a little) if you have time go read my latest post. If you can't help, that's okay, I just though you'de probably be my best bet networking wise.

:D

greatness!

Your dissertation etc looks very interesting and I will certainly want to help. I also... er, know people who know some other people who have done academic research into the topic, so hopefully we can get things snowballing for you. I'll comment on your post with length later today or tomorrow (am a bit snowed under atm)

ooooh *hugs* really excelent! I'll try to get the first proper post up on the dissertation journal during this week.

BTW I loved Not-a-Day! Firsly because that is so true about planes, and secondly I loved it because it was so simple. The emotions and mood and feel came through in the setting, without anything flashy or distracting. Great job!

I really like that, it flows so beautifully and the words and phrases you use are lovely. I'm not surprised it was picked up at all, congratulations.

Thank you! It's been a while since I've written anything except fanfic so it was a nice, liberating change. I'm really glad you took the time to read.
