Musical Chairs... or something.

Since all the cool kids are doing it, I thought I'd give it a go.
Step 1: Put your Media player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line(s) or your favourite lines of the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
This was more problematic than anticipated. A lot of instrumental pieces and quite a few of Finnish (and other non-English language) songs cropped up, so I skipped those in the name of fair chance.

on 2007-01-29 07:37 pm (UTC)When it comes to music I'm 80% about lyrics, which is where Cohen comes in. But yes, his songs are best taken in small doses, otherwise the urge to commit a) suicide or b) angsty poetry become too much.

on 2007-01-29 07:55 pm (UTC)I love good lyrics, they are important and a lot of the time, they make a song for me, which is why I too like Cohen, but... The music itself is also very important to me, and while great music can often make up for crappy lyrics, it works less often the other way around. Which is why I don't know what to think about Cohen. But so far, I've not given up on him, so... yay?

on 2007-02-02 04:46 pm (UTC)Are you... a Wolf's Rain fan? - alas no, can't say that I am, as I've never seen it. I've heard good things about it mind, and know that the song is from the soundtrack.
