“Well, this is awkward.”
Ryan had started on the edit early, despite Shane promising he’d do the first cut, despite Shane being quite insistent about it.
Ryan can guess why now. On the screen Shane is hissing at the dark, the syllables strange and sibilant, eyes black as ink.
In the doorway, Shane is holding two burritos and looking faintly embarrassed.
Ryan considers running away screaming. Shane even seems like he’s ready to shift out of the way for him to do just that. Instead, Ryan holds out a hand.
“Gimme my lunch. I need a full stomach for this.”
