Tony is falling. He’s falling fast, deadweight, nothing but a pile of dead metal encasing his soon-to-be-dead flesh.
He always knew he’d hit rock bottom eventually, but never thought he’d be the literal rock at the bottom of the quite literal crater he was going to leave on downtown Manhattan.
Inside his unbreakable suit, Tony is going to break apart on impact like a toy soldier.
And then suddenly, two seconds before nothingness finds him, a large green hand snatches him from the air, breaking the fall.
Turns out, sometimes surviving is as life-shattering as dying. Perhaps even more so.
