Bandslash – Fall Out Boy – Patrick/Pete – PG-13 – 438 words

Sketch the Sky
(prompt: starry nights)

Patrick is drunk. Pete is not.

Patrick thinks this is decidedly unfair.

Pete thinks it’s pretty fucking funny. “This is pretty fucking funny, Trick,” he says, looming over Patrick who is currently on his back on the floor.

Pete’s smile is wide and dorky and he’s showing a lot of teeth. Patrick maybe finds this adorable. That doesn’t stop him yelping in surprise when Pete starts shoving Patrick’s t-shirt out of the way.

“Stop it, Pete!” Patrick means it, he does, but he’s also giggling too much to do anything but bat at Pete’s shoulders ineffectually.

Pete doesn’t dodge away, but instead leans into the touch, pushing his head under Patrick’s hands. “Stay still.” He pops the first two buttons of Patrick’s jeans, tugging them down just enough to expose a wide strip of skin.

“Pete?” Patrick doesn’t even know what he’s asking, just that neither of them is laughing anymore.

Pete hums, uncorking a thin marker. “Stay still,” he repeats and then he’s drawing, harsh chemical smell of the ink spreading between them.

It tickles and Patrick’s grip tightens in an effort not to squirm, his nails digging into Pete’s scalp and the back of his neck.

He doesn’t know how long they stay like that; silent and unmoving except for the sharp scratch of the pen, Patrick’s fingers combing through Pete’s hair in a slow steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

Finally Pete stops and pulls away enough for Patrick to see. There’s a cluster of stars on his skin, dark shapes spanning the pale flesh of his hip, trailing down to the top of his thigh in a gentle curve like a reverse Milky Way.

“It’s…” Patrick reaches out to touch, smudging the lines a little and shivering unexpectedly.

“Not enough,” Pete says. His eyes are black like the stars on Patrick’s skin. “We need more.”

“Yeah.” Patrick’s voice cracks, syllables crumbling into the space between their bodies. “Yeah, okay.”

Pete crawls up until he’s on all fours above him, watching Patrick like he wants to map every inch of him. “Where?” he asks.

“Here,” Patrick says, fitting a thumb over the swell of bone on his other hip. “Here.” He lays his arms flat, exposing the soft inside of his elbows, of his wrists. “Here.” He turns his head to the side, as far as it goes, pulse hammering rapidly against the straining tendons.

“Everywhere,” Pete whispers, his mouth warm and sure, tongue tracing invisible patterns around the curve of Patrick’s jaw, the seam of his lips.

The pen clatters to the floor, the sound like the sky cracking open, like a galaxy being born.

Fin.

I love this so much, but then you know that hopefully.

Particularly this line, and yeah I know what quoting lines does to you *grins*

He doesn’t know how long they stay like that; silent and unmoving except for the sharp scratch of the pen, Patrick’s fingers combing through Pete’s hair in a slow steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

Thank you so much for this one and yes, dragging me into bandom

I do, you told me! And, uh, *squirms* yes with the quoting, I... thanks?

Thank you so much for this one and yes, dragging me into bandom - AHAHAHA, I HAVE THIS ON WRITING NOW! Victory is mine!

Well, the fluffy Patrick/Pete I'm writing should counterbalance all the dodgy con you plan on putting out...

Ah, but let's not forget the very lovely bdsm Patrick/Pete we were talking about. If we ever do write that there should be some serious angst *grins*

But that is like the perfect amalgamation of bdsm and angst and schmoop and true love! It's a match made in Bandom-heaven!

*shakes head* of course it is. Nothing wrong with schmoop as long as there's some angst and bdsm thrown in.

You just keep with the writing little things that make my brain go "oh, nice..." schmoopy but submissive marker fic is but one of them.

*attempts to drag self away from bandom* It's likely a good thing you'll be offline for a few days...still must actually read SGA fic. I know you aren't a McShep person, but we got to "Tao of Rodney" last night - and there were candles and bedroom mediatation, and Sheppard's whole "just listen to my voice" thing that melts me a whole lot, and McKay ended up on Sheppard's bed with Sheppard kneeling over him...somehow I went for liking the show to loving the show sometime in the past week or so.

Hee, I will try to keep my f-list entertained with ficcage this coming year too...

How did the SGA reading go? [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa fics have been posted so do check out the goodies there. "Tao of Rodney" was an excellent episode. I don't mind McShep and can certainly see it (especially in a blatant scene like that) but for me the part that made my McBeck heart melt was of course the scene where Rodney beams instructions to save him into Carson's brain... &hears; &hears; &hears;

SGA porn is very fun :) I've actually been sticking to writers I'm familiar with from other fandoms - about 3 years ago, this show took over my Buffyverse reading list - they all went from Spander to McShepp overnight. I figure the [community profile] sga_santa fics might be a bit spoilery for season 4 - which is marathoning here next weekend, so then I'll be all caught up.

I think I might be avoiding McBeck because I know it will rip my heart out. I'm an admitted angst queen, but I've got Sam/Dean and Peter/Nathan and all these other doomed 'ships, and I don't know if I can manage one more. I love them both dearly, but I'm not ready to sob about them and their obvious, adorable love just yet.

Plus, my first thought on Sheppard was "I could totally fall for this guy", swiftly followed by "I think he should take off his clothes."

My wife, who doesn't work full time and has endless fic reading time, has been reading Ronon/anything with a pulse (she's in love, and calls him "Mr. Hunky" :).

And that McShepp scene had nothing on the Sheppard/Ronon scenes in "Sunday" - Ronon's "sport" that just involved grabbing Sheppard's ass, and then Sheppard asks Ronon if he has a boyfriend, while Ronon sits on his bed! OMG;) I've got a shiny new fandom and shall now proceed to become an annoying, giggly fangirl

Ahaha, yeah I'm totally on board the Dex/Sheppard train CHOO CHOO BRING IT ON! I would give your wife some recs but I suspect she's already covered them all, there isn't that much written for that pairing which is a CRYING SHAME. And yeah that bed-lounding scene of "er, so, you, er, seeing anyone...?" made fe fall off the sofa in GLEE.

A lot of the [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa fics actually don't seem to be that spoilery for the 4th season... God knows I haven't seen any of that yet... *shifty eyes* I got, um, distracted. Plus it took me forever to get over "Sunday".

I'm sure we'd both appreciate some good Dex/Sheppard fics, since that dynamic is so awesomely porny, and we haven't run across anything impressive yet - she linked me to a fic that:
a). was Ronon's journal POV, and
b) spelled his name wrong throughout!

And, strangely, the journal part was weirder - I think he'd misspell his name before writing about it in his journal (to which mu wife responds "shut up and read the porn - there's bondage".)

Ah, the bed lounging scene - I dropped things. And thought - this is exactly how you seduce people in college dorms "Let's grab some beer and go back to my room to listen to music!" And Ronon's responce was that he wasn't ready to date yet! But any time in the future....They opened that door right up for us.

Distracted, you say....if only the world wasn't so full of shiny things and pretty boys in eyeliner.

I am totally lazy and dial-up bound atm, but as a first aid measure you both should head over to [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec and hit on the john/ronon tag (http://community.livejournal.com/stargateficrec/tag/john/ronon) for the best of best. Personal favourite is "Still" by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock, you can find the rec and link there. You should also check the winners and nominees at the [livejournal.com profile] sgdiverse_award for this and other rarer pairings.

Ahaha, hey, speaking of pretty boys in eyeliner, I remember us talking Tokio Hotel a while back. They've been playing An deiner seite (Ich bin da) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek1bKfWcw5U) a lot on the music channel here and the video makes me aaawwwww all over the place. Oh boys, how so young and pretty and slashable?

This is... incredibly hot. I don't follow Fall Out Boy's music or anything, but this is really, really hot. I love the build up of the tension between them, especially.

Oh, thank you so much! I'm doubly flattered then that you took the time to read and comment :D

My own introduction to FOB went something like this:
1. oooh, that's a catchy song! (Thnks fr th mmrs)
2. and look, they're kind of cute too!
3. hey, didn't I see like tons of fic about these guys...?
4. *gorges self with fic and band primers*
5. *downloads entire back catalogue*
6. *falls in love with Patrick's voice and Pete's emo lyrics*
7. approx. 1 year later: going to see FOB live next month...
