Friends Cut...

Hello my lovelies,

I've been thinking about this for a while and it's time to do it. I post a fair amount of personal and real life stuff under friends-lock
and am getting a little uncomfortable with it being open to people who I don't feel I know that well or particularly care about my RL issues.

Thus, I'm planning on doing a smallish friends cut over the next few days. Mostly this will be
    a) people who have already defriended me,
    b) people who have announced they are leaving LJ more or less permanently,
    c) journals that appear dead as in I haven't seen posts or comments from them for eons, and
    d) people who I don't really connect with anymore (or never really did in the first place).

Please let me know if you think you might fall into the above categories but are still keen to stay. Similarly, if you would prefer to part ways but haven't gotten around to it, then do let me know or simply make the first move.

Remember that all my fandom related posts including fics, mixes or icons will always be public. If you want to keep me on your flist for just that then feel free.

If you friended me for and are only interested in my poetry, all of that has now moved onto boneverse so you are better of friending that journal.

I won't be posting my personal entries on LJ for much longer, honey, but would you mind keeping me? I like to be able to sort of sync my DW flist with my LJ flist in my head, and duplicate entries help with that - though I know you don't crosspost. Personal entries will be on DW if you still want to follow. *hugs* See you later.

Starting crossposting and sorting out/syncing DW circle are on my list for the next year. At the moment the whole thing is just too much brain effort so all I've been doing is importing LJ entries and comments there every now and then as a back-up of sorts. I don't really read there either which is why, if you won't crosspost, I will for at least a while, rely on being told about important RL things via other means...

And yes, you were in no danger of being cut, silly.

*laughs* I know that, in a personal sense. I just thought you might do it here and keep me on DW, for convenience, as some of my flist here have done.

About crossposting, I just don't feel comfortable trusting LJ with my personal details after this latest fuckup. When I get the chance I'm going to export my whole journal, backup my comments to DW and delete almost everything from LJ except for the fic.

How important is important, sweetie? Maybe we can talk about that later? I'm bringing a half bottle of Chardonnay with me, by the way. :)

I think I need you to help me rewrite this post so that I can use it on my own LJ. I've just deleted a few dead comms and found a 'friend' I hadn't 'spoken' to for three years had deleted me much to my relief - cos I hate 'defriending' someone!! Like Trialia I am considering at least a partial move to Dreamwidth so I might have to ask her for advice with that. I don't really understand cross-posting! Will speak to you about it all soon.

Well, feel to plagiarise whatever fits. And yeah, I'm much the same; there are a number of journals and comms that appear dead.

Dreamwidth crossposting etc. will have to wait until next year though, when I have brain power to spare...

And here's a recent treat for you: last week I wrote feedback on some project proposal, one of which wanted to look at the 'problem of social depravity in East Manchester'. I kindly suggested they look at the dictionary first and that I hoped it was 'deprivation' not 'depravity' they planned on discussing...
