Kat Recs All The Fics, Round 2 - Day 2

Having a) beaten Bourdieu into submission, sort of, b) ranted about recycling to the upstairs neighbours again, c) stood outside and shouted YOU FUCKING IDIOTS at the houses opposite (because they don't recycle, and there is like a mountain of bin bags on the street), and d) processed my rage by playing nothing but Warblers all day, I now present you recs. In a theme. Of Glee.

So there. Now shut up and read some fics.

Glee

Class, Sophistication and Taste - Blaine/Kurt, canon AU. Clothing fetish, sort of. Or: Kurt and Blaine go clothes shopping. Dressing room sex ensues. :D Hot and fashionable. Bonus points for the AVPM reference at the end, lol!

Culture Shock - Blaine/Kurt. This starts as a lighthearted look at Warblers visiting McKinley Glee Club and end up with some genuinely touching and astute observations about both Blaine and Kurt. Lovely.

Good Judgment - Blaine/Kurt, canon AU. This is from Burt's pov as he observes his son's blossoming relationship. It makes me love Burt even more and firmly cements his position in the 'best TV dads' list. Absolutely heart-warming.

No Regrets, Just Love - Blaine/Kurt, canon AU. Oh man, this is hilarious. Blaine is trying to be a gentleman, which would be easier if Kurt wasn't exactly his type and if he wasn't having all these feelings. Wes and David lay down some ground rules: "I swear to high holy Jesus, Blaine, if you take advantage of that boy, you're going to the Special Hell." Wes proclaims solemnly. David nods like Wes is preaching from the Gospel According to St. Bitchy Roommate. High on the LOL factor :D

peace on earth and mercy mild - Brittany/Santana, other canon pairings. Secret santa shenanigans! Santana voice in this is great and the whole thing is ridiculous like an actual episode.


 
Glee RPF

Feel the Beat - Chris/Darren. Unf, I do like sexy, confident Chris. But I also like hesitant and inexperienced (and still very sexy) Chris. This gives me both, plus some hot and heavy dancing at a night club. Mmmm.

Sleep, Perchance to Dream - Chris/Darren. Darren wants to be Chris' sleep kitten. To help him with his insomnia. Honestly. “I’m a tease,” Darren says, as if this is a monumental discovery akin to creating penicillin. Ugh, delightful.

Some Sort of Messy Emotions - Chris/Darren. This is a 'pretending to be boyfriends' fic that actually deals with all the ways it could go badly and hurt a friendship. There is a hopeful ending and plenty of lightness in this story as well, but it's the difficult stuff that really makes it.

The Day Verse - Chris/Darren. There are four fics in this 'verse so far and they are just amazing, which is not surprising given the author. The relationship development feels very real and organic with a certain sense of fragility that makes my breath catch. The secondary characters are well drawn, and there's more than a few laugh-out-loud moments. A truly entertaining read.

The Story of How Chris Isn't Goldilocks - Chris/Darren. Everyone's first time should be this awesome. This just made me grin: happy and sweet and very, very hot.

Oooo thanks for the recs! There are just so many fics out there and I've been burned many times. The only one I've read is "No Regrets" but I don't really remember it. Oh well, guess I'll just have to read it again!

You are most welcome. And right in the fact that there is also a fair bit of dross out there for this fandom, which I'm attributing to the fact that some of the writers are rather young...
