Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them, from my own personal pseudo-canon.

Apologies for how terribly angsty and full of, uhm, Issues, the answers are. I’m not quite over the SPN finale yet and that reflects on everything at the moment…

Three things about Guy of Gisbourne

1. Guy hates the Sheriff. Hates his knowing smirk, his too soft hands, his sharp tongue, and how he doesn’t see Guy, not really, just looks right through him. Most days Guy doesn’t know why he stays with him, can’t even remember why he accepted the position in the first place. There was something about wealth and land and respect, but it’s been years now, and none of it has materialised and it’s not going to, he knows. But still he stays. Because it may be all lies and false promises and doing someone else’s dirty work, but it may also be the best he can hope for.

 

2. Guy hates Marian too. He hates her for running away, for all the lies and deception, and for betraying him. In the end Marian didn’t see him either, and that’s the bitterest pill of all, because for a moment there Guy really thought… Well. He was a damned fool. The reality is that as much as Guy hates the Sheriff, he hates Marian more now. It’s a hate born out of love, and it burns him up, hollows him out; wakes him up in the middle of the night, gasping and hard and alone.

 

3. Robin doesn’t remember this but he and Guy actually met once, several years ago, back before Guy was “Guy of Gisbourne”, before he was much of anything really. Guy was sitting in the kitchens of the Locksley manor, waiting for his mother who was out working. He was old enough to understand what she was selling, but too young to understand that it was all that different from how other people fed themselves.

Suddenly a boy burst into the room, chattering non-stop, a shock of light brown hair on his head. There was another boy with him, a year, maybe two older, strawberry blond and of stockier build, trailing after him like a puppy. The two of them went around the kitchen like a whirlwind; pocketing things from the table, tasting this, pinching that, like they owned the place, like they belonged. Then, just as quickly as they had appeared, they were gone, leaving behind frazzled but amused kitchen staff. Guy didn’t ask for the boy’s name but the cook told him anyway.

Contrary to what everybody believes, Guy doesn’t actually hate Robin. Oh, he’s furious at him alright, for messing with his carefully laid out plans, jealous for what he has and what he’s taken. Given half a chance Guy would kill Robin in a heartbeat, no doubt about that, but he’s pretty sure that he doesn’t hate him. Funny that.

Three things about James Wilson

1. Wilson once signed up for Médecins Sans Frontières. He even got as far as driving to New York for an interview at the recruitment office. The woman Wilson spoke with was younger than him, and clearly thrilled to have such an experienced doctor interested in their work. It was going so well too; yes Wilson was aware of and prepared for the hard conditions; yes he could definitely afford the time off from his job, perhaps even permanently; and he certainly had passed the psych evaluation with flying colours. He was excited; he was really going to do this; he wanted to help, to give something back, to—

Then she asked if he realised that many of the countries MSF operated in had extremely unstable political situations, including outright civil wars; that there was every chance that once out in the field he may never come back. Did Dr. Wilson have any dependents? Was there anyone who would find it difficult to – how should she put this? – to cope if something were to happen to him?

She had taken one look at his face and suggested that perhaps he wanted to take a few days to think about it and please give her a call later, they would be happy to have him, anytime.

Wilson drove back home and didn’t talk to House for a week. Three months later he married Julie.

 

2. After his last divorce, when it became clear that the American dream of white picket fences and apple pies just wasn’t going to happen for him, Wilson went and got a vasectomy. His brother was continuing the family name, nieces and nephews clinging to Uncle-Jimmy’s legs whenever he visits, and that’s enough, that’s about all he could handle really.

 

3. Wilson is really good in bed. I mean really, really good. He’ll make sure you come at least twice before even getting out of your clothes and is willing to try anything once. He has also slept with almost as many men as women. House knows this, and Wilson knows that he knows. After all, it’s not like he’s been that discreet about it lately, though House still hasn’t said anything. Wilson is pretty sure there’s a limit to how far he can push things, but it just hasn’t been reached yet. All it means is that the next time he will be even less subtle.

Ooh I love the first one. Never even thought of something like that but I can see it. And the third? Fandom will debate that might actually be cannon! :D

I always wondered what peoples views on the Wilson with kids issue was, especially after the "Can we talk about something else?" Cuddy dinner.

My own never-to-be-written favorite plot idea right now is Stacy having House's kid after that night, Stacy dying in childbirth, House finding out and suing for custody. Wilson being devious and blackmailing House off Vicodin or he won't support him because he knows House wouldn't be considered capable on his own to look after the baby. Cue lots of angst and slash and baby!House - Wilson scenes.

James Wilson #1: is Médecins Sans Frontières also known as Doctors Without Borders? Because I've never heard of Médecins Sans Frontières before I started reading House-centered Live Journals. I don't know that Wilson would do that though, I think he's too devoted to his cancer patients. In the Pilot, it is mentioned that Wilson's uncle had cancer, I think that's why he got into that field. But I like that he'd not join because House would miss him.

Yes it's the same organisation, MSF was started by French doctors and in Europe the French and English names are used side by side quite commonly. But yes, in US the official name is "Doctors Without Borders" but I think Wilson, with his fondness for all things French (well, shoes at least) would like the original name better *gg*

Perhaps the Wilson in the show canon wouldn't do it, but I think a younger, more idealistic Wilson (as this is placed pre-show timeline) would have seen it as an oppotunity to get away as well as help.

I've always thought it would be far more interesting, canonically, if Wilson didn't want kids and House did. Only the idea of House fathering Cuddy's baby makes me feel ill. But anyway. Yeah, I really liked that one.

Well....*ponders* You can go here (http://deelaundry.livejournal.com/31872.html). Excellent stories by deelaundry, and My Father's Son is a long, plotty kid!fic. There's also the Church!verse, which can be found in the fic journal of simple__man here (http://community.livejournal.com/simple__stuff/). Church is House and Cuddy's biological kid, but House and Wilson are raising him. Also, Wilson is basically Church's male mother. Trust me, it really works.

it's always been my own personal head canon that Wilson likes kids but doesn't want any. I also love "Wilson is a male slut" stuff. All three of these were really well-written. :)

Heh, I wrote this so long ago that I had to read it myself to figure out what you were referring to. Yes, I too am fond of the idea of Wilson as easy and hangup-free when it comes to sex.
