Here are the rest of [personal profile] isobell’s birthday drabbles. She made me reach new depths of Bandom caves; first time writing both Panic and MCR.

Bandslash – Panic At The Disco – Brendon/Ryan – PG

Apparent
(prompt: mirror)

Brendon watches himself watch Ryan watch himself fiddle with his scarf.

The dressing room is tiny. He’d only need to take two steps back to bump shoulders with Ryan, but the mirrors create an artificial distance and Brendon lets it grow; a silver labyrinth without a start or finish.

He sees all these reflections of Ryan – a procession of pretty brown-eyed boys stretching on forever – but it’s like he doesn’t see Ryan.

Brendon is adrift somewhere in flat glass and curved light, and the sudden touch is like a lifebuoy.

“You ready?” Ryan asks, his hand warm against Brendon’s skin.

Bandslash – My Chemical Romance – Frank/Gerard – PG-13

Kairos
(prompt: revolution)

“It was a mutiny, a battle cry, a… a fucking revolution!”

“What’s that?” Frank snags a chair, interrupting cheerfully.

Rock ‘n roll!” Ray answers. “A musical expression of a fight for freedom.”

Gerard is nodding along. “Glory days. Now it’s a bunch of skinny white dudes desperately looking for a cause, something worth screaming for.”

Franks reaches across the sticky Formica table, lugging Gerard in the shoulder. Hard. “What the fuck, Gee? You’re saving lives here, remember?”

Gerard grins sheepishly. “Maybe. Don’t know about changing the world, though.”

You changed mine, Frank thinks, but he doesn’t say it out loud.

Nice! They lend themselves to drabbles/vignettes, don't they? I love the mirrors. (I always love mirror fic...)

These boys lend themselves to all sorts... And thank you, I thought you might enjoy the mirrors...

So, so sweet, both of them! Have to say the MCR's my favourite, just 'cause I love them more, but they're both wonderful.

“A musical expression of a fight for freedom.”

I like.

Thank you very much! Like I said, this was a first time writing both of the bands so I'm glad they turned out okay.

And with the quoting stuff... *blush-squirm*

Oh, shiny...:) Ah, MCR and the world-changing. I seriously love them because they honestly seem to think they are.

Also, Panic (!)'s album managed to go from "well, sort of" to "AGAIN!" the other day. I am possibly the only person on earth that listens to music I am too old for didactically.

Thanks again for the MCR album. I've been listening to it on repeat whilst writing umpteen student feedback forms. It goes surprisingly well with that!

I'm older than you so shut your mouth! Although it is highly amusing to me that when I'm in a train in the morning, wearing my professional clothes and looking all studious, I sit in front of some emo teen with black nail polish and a MCR hoodie and we both have headphones on with exactly the same music.

Three Cheers is awesome - I'm not sure any band understands "momentum" quite as well as MCR - it just takes off and there's nothing that's going to stop it. I attempt to explain this to my classical musician wife, and she just rolls her eyes a little.

At least I don't have to dress like a grown-up. I think I keep my job partially because I get to show up in jeans and a T-shirt every day. Heck, it's the Pacific Northwest, so even the lawyers in business men rarely look like anything but extras from an old Pearl Jam video. But I do put on headphone at work and giggle when I think about attempting to explain just why I am listening to CS. "Well, there's this girl I know that writes gay porn about them..." :D

Hee... I know shit all about music, beyond knowing what I like. On the first few listens, "the ghost of you" is hitting the hardest.

Well, I don't usually have to wear anything too stylish... being a part-time uni tutor means I too can roll in jeans and an inside-out t-shirt and pass it all of as academic eccentricity.

giggle when I think about attempting to explain just why I am listening to CS. "Well, there's this girl I know that writes gay porn about them..." - AHAHAHAA! Quite!

yay for ficlet! *runs to see*

Hell, she willingly listens to boy bands, so there's only so much stock I can put in her musical knowledge. And I thought my music collection was random. She's got Bach and Backstreet Boys. Also, country. :)

I've got a whole family of pro and semi-pro musicians - classical musicians/composers/conductors/ rock guitarists/ Christian singer-songwiters/ piano-pop in Vegas, and all I got was the ability to "see" all of it.

Ah, "Ghost of You" - its on my newest mix in progress - Heroes Peter/Nathan (again! - but s.2, what with all the added "I let you die" angst). Now, if I can just convince myself that I can make MCR and Tom McRae work on the same mix.

My Ipod has either been bandom or porny SGA pod-fic, so it would probably be easier to explain the CS than "gay military space porn, based on a show you've never heard of, written and recorded by amatuers"

I absolutely love this line in the first drabble but the mirrors create an artificial distance and Brendon lets it grow; a silver labyrinth without a start or finish.

As ever my dear a fantastic way with words and the second drabble just made me laugh, especially with the comment about rock n roll just being a bunch of skinny white dudes desperately looking for a cause

Yeah and I know what quoting does to you. *grins*
