1. Me when I watch reacters on YT: some of you have grown up by never watching any media not in your native language that has subtitles and it shows. Okay, listen, I know there are a whole variety of reasons why people struggle with subtitles but English language privilege is a thing and if I got a pound every time a reacter went 'omg it's so haaaaaaaaaard to read the subtitles and also follow the mv' I would by now have paid at least half of my monthly energy bill.
2. I have written 30k of fic this year. Please witness.
3. Is anyone interested in betaing 6k of femmeslash? I finally finished the Hustlers (2019 film) post-canon Destiny/Ramona fic. It's barely a T and mostly just them gettinng back together. And then getting together. Mostly I just want a spag check but if you've watched the movie then awesome. If you haven't you should, but you could also watch this awesome fanvid bysisabet. on 2023-04-02 09:05 pm (UTC)I *want* to hear the actor's voice which is so much part of their performance, even if I can't understand what they're saying. Dubs always distort this, always. I accidentally caught the first few minutes of Yin-Yang Master dubbed - settings were wrong - and they both sounded like American dude bros.

on 2023-04-04 05:17 pm (UTC)The only dubs I like are the ones for children's animation, largely because certainly in Finland you'd often get well known actors for things like Disney movies and with good translators you get the humour and wordplay in a way that's also funny in Finnish. So then I get to watch it twice and find it funny in two slightly different way. It's same like how I love the Finnish translator for the Pratchett's books who is a legit language wizard, they are amazing in keeping the tone but making them hilarious in Finnish.
