Well. I was going to post some photos or book reviews or maybe ramble about my holiday or, say, how I got commended on the external examiner's report for an 'innovative' practice on assessment (I totally did but it totally wasn't that innovative, bless my tiny university) but...

But.

I've gotten four spam comments today all on payday loans and while I have grown increasingly irritated by them, they have also become increasingly hilarious. Below is the latest. With scathing commentary.

***

Subject: What you need to do to released a hasty Online Loans 727

Released you say? Well, the increasing spam is making me feel a bit like a prisoner, true...

There is nothing easier and quicker than getting a payday loan online via our company. Our enterprise is based in the Canada and USA and we're specialzied in short-term loans. If you are curently looking on some sell to cover some emergences until you bring back your next paycheck, then we can come forward a result concerning you.

It's almost too easy. But your translation bot/slave can spell 'enterprise' but not 'currently'? I just bet you are looking on some sell too.

We put up for sale teeny payday loans online to our customers. We can loan you any amount of filthy lucre from $100 to $1000 anyhow if this is your first beat borrowing from us then the zenith amount of money you can borrow is $1000. As the statistics shows our clients as usual obtain up to $700 looking for a month in the average.

I don't know where you come from mate, but around here 'filthy lucre' does not equal 'teeny'. Certainly not on the first beat. If you get my zenith.

We do our a-one in harmony to manufacture our website as convenient in place of you as practical so you can rumble all the needed information inasmuch as taking a payday loan swiftly and easy. We alone bumf into distinguishable sections according to the topics and needs of our customers. We’re unfaltering it won’t be a predicament for the purpose you to espy d‚mod‚ all the inexorable details relative to the nice of payday credit you are looking for.

The more you talk, the more intrigued I am. It's not everyday a lady gets an offer to rumble an easy bumf, and I must say I am seeing the potential in the inexorable   details of this predicament to espy.

You arrange to concede that with $100 to $1000 you are skilful to take tend of a lot of problems.

Oh baby, I really am. I will take tend of your problems like they've never been taken tend of before.

You can’t be ready to all kinds of situations that can happen to you. A consignment of our customers put up with payday loans in the USA and Canada in order to front some difficulty expenses such as medical bills or to choose a leaking briar in the house.

Who would choose a leaking briar? I mean, you're not even saying that a leaking briar just happens, like an 'emergence', (though I'm not sure that's possible either), but that I would actually choose it. Because, what? Water-tight briars are just so passée?

Anyway there are no restrictions for what you have to throw away your moneyed on; it is unconditionally all up to you. There is pretty much the just one-liner condition as a service to you that you are qualified to requite your http://123paydayloan.co.uk/ (http://123paydayloan.co.uk/).

Incidentally, I don't know whether this company is actually behind these spams. But as there is no form of contact on their website other than the application process I can't directly express my anger at them via a vicious email. Though if I find one I will send this commentary to them. See how do they like 'em briars.

As prolonged as you can do that, you are entirely emancipated to do whatever you call for with your money. We don’t demand our customers such questions.

How very gracious of you. Now stand still while I emancipate you from your testicles, you money-leeching syntax-challenged little maggot.

Well. That made me feel better. Now only if my briars would stop leaking...

Your commentary made me laugh out loud.

I never read these spam things though I get quite a few phone ones. One, yesterday, wanted to tell me all about problems with my computer 'reported to us by your ISP' - trouble is, they had the wrong ISP... I am also tired of people with very very foreign, almost impenetrable accents telling me their name is something very English and that they are calling from Birmingham, etc. They also call me 'ma'am' which suggests they learnt their mangled English from Americans. I suppose if the owners of the scam 'enterprises' get a couple of 'suckers' from every 100 or so calls or emails, it makes it worth their while.

However, my MP has just emailed me to say that nuisance calls are going to be the focus of his work in the next parliamentary session and asking me to sign a petition. As he's a cabinet minister I rather think his time could be spent better.

I've been getting these on old LJ post, I've got anonymous commenting enabled on my own journal but it's also been happening on comm posts. Just got another one with this beauty of a sentence:

If you bum a short-term loan during Happen suddenly phase of the moon, or suffer from an stretching on a Winter part accommodation, you purpose be managerial for making unshakeable that the advance is repaid on time.

To be fair though, it makes about as much sense that your average 'terms and conditions' document from any bank. Possibly even more.

Lol on the wrong ISP, did you call them on that? I'm sick of automated messages on the phone because you can't even rant back at them.

Yes, I do have to say that there probably are more pressing issues for a cabinet minister to deal with than nuisance calls...

I did - as soon as they said they were speaking because of a report from my ISP I asked who they thought that was and they said BT - well, our phone is BT but our internet isn't...

As soon as I realise a message is automated I just put the phone down, but it's still a nuisance having to answer the phone.

I love that sentence you found!!!

I never know why people allow anon comments on their own journals. It's an invitation to spam and harrassment. Did you know you can now disable anon comments on AO3? We are quite often busy advising people who are suffering harrassment to do just that!

Excellent! Love when one gets a chance to talk back at these people.

I allow anon comments because I normally don't get much spam (in fact, apart for these last couple of weeks it really hasn't happened at all over the 7 years I've been on LJ) and because I have received some good anon comments e.g. on fics. Also, as I will be hosting a meme with anon posting (as I've done before) I'll keep it on anon as default.

Haven't received any spam comments on AO3 yet thankfully!

Making you laugh is one of the great joys of my life :)

I'm hoping the spammers read some of the stuff posted on the evil Sam comm and got suitably traumatized.

They are just hilarious! And your comments priceless! What is worrying is the possibility of people actually responding. But no, no one would be that silly ... would they!!??

I had a load of spam comments on one of my old lj posts that weren't anonymous a couple of weeks ago, I just deleted them but it was very annoying.

I have now started shouting 'A LEAKING BRIAR!' at random times. It has so many uses... dismay, surprise, excitement, when choosing a leaking briar...

I would think the number of people swayed by these spam messages is dwindling by now as the public is becoming more internet-savvy and more knowledgeable about the scams.

It's been particularly spam-heavy on LJ lately for some reason. As I said above, I haven't had any problems for most of the 7 years I've been here and now this last month... *shakes head*
