on 2013-06-20 04:08 pm (UTC)The videos made me remember the old chant, "2, 4, 6, 8, is the copper really straight?" It is amazing what a difference time makes, if you think that it isn't so long ago that Clause 28 (and other) protests pretty much actively pitted the police against LGBT people. It must have been particularly awful for anyone who was both, then.

on 2013-06-21 01:03 am (UTC)Unfortunately we don’t have the same level of acceptance here and active support for LGBT people within the Police, schools or other community services. Things are getting better gradually but we have a long way to go before catching up with the UK.
