kat_lairSo. I just, for the first time ever, did a proper word count of all my thesis chapter drafts. Turns out I have 59,025 out of the required 80,000 words written. And I know for a fact that I have ready written notes, interview quotes and some errand references to still insert to that and a lot of 'joining-up' sentences and paragraphs to write to make it all flow prettily so...
I think this might be cautiously referred to as WIN?

on 2011-07-06 07:22 am (UTC)What I find a good way of motivating is simply to set a word count for myself, e.g. 500 words per day. That way you pretty soon get the bulk of the text done and even if some of it's crap and needs to be edited out, it's still a solid start. Good luck with your dissertation!
