So I'm spending a Friday night at home with laptop, two clingy kittens and something called "50 sexiest videos ever" on my telly. Exciting, I know. Except for how these music videos are absolutely shit. Because apparently sexy = scantily clad, generously stacked women writhing against every available surface. Oh and there are some gym-built men too, usually standing still while the said women writhe against them. The only thing turning red hot here is my misogyny-meter. This fuckwittery  is not turning me on, it's turning me homicidal.

So. Darling flist. I trust you have a much better taste than this. Please to be reccing me what you think are the sexiest music videos ever. Tell me why, leave me links, gimme new shiny things to drool over!

I'm a bit conflicted over this because the song (and the video itself TBH) is a sexist piece of crap that does no favours to either gender....BUT Beyonce in that police uniform in If I Were A Boy is ridiculously hot. Also, I could have sworn there's a P!nk vid where she's writhing around on a bed looking as hot as fuck but now I've rewatched a bunch of her videos (what a hardship :D) and I can't find it.

Finally, Leona Lewis in Footprints in the Sand is really, really lovely although it feels a bit wrong saying it's a sexy video as it's so sad.

I've seen the Beyonce vid, mainly because for a month there you couldn't physically avoid it. And yeah it mostly made me roll my eyes a lot because of the gender portrayals... Now Pink I'm all over (well, I wish) and her vids are always interesting. I think a huge part of her hotness comes from how she doesn't take herself too seriously.

I hadn't seen that Leona Lewis vid so cool. It was indeed beautiful, and so is she. Thanks for the recs!

I'm going to have disagree with you about the She-Wolf vid. TBH, I find it really quite... cheap. I mean yeah Shakira is pretty hot and curvy and I rather liked her earlier stuff, but this feels like it's just playing up to her body rather than the concept of the song (she-wolf! seriously, I would have loved to see some badass werewolf action for that) and all she does is writhe around in what looks like a giant vulva and at the end returns next to her sleeping bf like a good little girl.

But Duffy yes! I really love her voice, and the songs are interesting.

w00t, I have been meaning to make a 'Sexiest Music Videos Ever' post for months now! I think you might enjoy How Deep is Your Love by Take That (sans the redundant ending, maybe) and Domino Dancing by Pet Shop Boys (ESPECIALLY the ending).

There's also Closer by Nine Inch Nails, although that has some icky parts that might distract from the hotness. Then again, the good parts are REALLY GOOD. For reference:

Hmmm well depends on your definition of sexy! For me, MCR's Desolation Row hits a million and one kinks with violence and outfits and chains and things.

I will admit when I was a teenager, I loved D'Angelo's How Does It Feel. I am not usually into muscley dudes but the muscles going down from his hips kind of caught my attention, and the song is super-sexy itself.

Then there's Beck's Sexx Laws, which mocks and celebrates bixarre sexuality all at once, and Beck to me is alllways fine.
