Kat Recs All The Fics, Round 3 - Day 4

A Helping Hand - Frank/Gerard. Frank wears out his hand during touring, badly enough that if he wants to continue playing he's going to have to skip other... activities. Well. Luckily he has a very helpful frontman, willing to lend a hand. And... many other things besides. This was funny, hot and totally in character for what I imagine sexually frustrated Frank would be like.
I Know This Hurts (It Was Meant To) - Patrick/Pete, Gabe/OFC. Oh my heart. This story went straight into my 'this is how it's done' list of bdsm fics. Pete is looking for something to keep him grounded, to calm him, to make the voices in his head fall quiet, something safer than getting into random fights. But when he finds it, he ends up looking for something else; the identity of the man who can give it to him (author has blanked out his name blanked out so I've done the same, highlight to spoil yourself). This story provides a beautiful and painful look at bdsm, mental health and the interplay between the d/s and vanilla sides of a relationship. Gorgeous, hot, deeply emotional.
The Armored Cars of Dreams - Patrick/Pete. This is a deeply moving, funny, painful and realistic look at Pete putting himself together and dealing with his mental health issues. The relationship between him and Patrick is a steady point throughout it.
There's A Light On In Chicago - Patrick/Pete, AU. This is loosely based on the movie Sleepless in Seattle and gave me similar happy, unashamedly romantic fuzzies in the heart region. Read in front of the fire with some hot chocolate nearby.
Truth Is, I'm a Runaway - Tom/Sean, X-men AU. Tom and Sean are kind of Wolverine and Rogue, go on a long road trip and find creative ways to work around the 'no touching' rule. Hugely entertaining.
Untitled 'texts from last night' ficlet - Pete/Gerard. Pete is drunk sexting Mikey. Only he gets Gerard by mistake. On account of being really, epically drunk. Glorious.
We each play the part written for us (you can't change the future) - Frank/Gerard, AU. In which Gerard is a comic book artist and Frank his inspiration. This is a charming story of the boys being faily dudes who keep failing to get their shit together enough to actually get together. Entertaining as hell, loved all the secondary characters in this as well.
Crossover, Bandom & Glee
Another Cog in the Murder Machine - Bob/Sue. Oh man, after 2.16, this was just begging to be written. Hilarious, completely in character for everyone.
The Breakfast Club
Fifteen Detentions - Bender/Brian. Bender has quite a few detentions still to do. His friends make sure he gets through them in one piece. Those and the rest of the high school. Bender is perfectly in character here; brassy, brittle, bold... and headed for better things he ever thought. Ugh, my heart.
Higher Education - Bender/Brian. A perfect resolution to the movie. Bender grows up, gets a job, friends, and somehow, ends up with a boyfriend in all that, none of which he planned for. Long, thoroughly satisfying read with a great mix of angst, sex and feelings.
