These are all things I discovered because of my lovely circle, communities or a fest I took part in. All are original fics and all are short fics.

The Last Contact - A beautiful short sci-fi fic where humans are the last contact of a dying species and demonstrate the best sides of us for a change. Sad and hopeful at the same time.

Shit Cassandra Saw That She Didn’t Tell the Trojans Because at that Point Fuck Them Anyway - Outstanding, painful, triumphant. Exactly what the title says.

The Skin Keeper - Four ficlets about shapeshifters, all clever and touching twists on the theme.

Best Art Friend; Or, Girls, Goblins, and Everything - In which art is about making it and happiness is found with friends. Hopeful and kind and affirming.

Uncensored - Okay, this is antropomorph fic but I think it still sort of counts. Three of the biggest fanfiction websites in one room. Hilarious.

If Comfy, Warm, and My Size, Why No Sit: A Meta-analysis of Research into the Warm Flat Rectangle by Dr Fluffy Jones - Absolutely perfect. Rigorous research. No peer review notes. Recommended for publication.

Because apparently I've done something to please the universe, I've somehow received two fics. I'm not exactly complaining though because they are both absolutely gorgeous and manage to hit so many things on my 'yes please' list of likes and wants that I'm not quite sure what to do with myself! Except, rec them!

Dirty Martini, T, Marvel, Pepper/Tony - BDSM AU! Oh yes, I got a BDSM AU fic and I love it so! Just... feelings, and excellent characterisation and detail, and the Pepper/Tony rooftop scene from Iron Man 2 is given a lovely d/s make over with kneeling and bared neck (yes, hello, my kinks). Everything I wanted for this pairing and scenario.

Cottage in the Woods, E, Original Fic, Female Witch/Male Werewolf - Amazing world building and great use of the supernatural elements. Characters are real and three dimensional, the sex is hot (orgasm denial, spanking, service, kneeling, yes thank you mmmm) and the relationship dynamic is treated beautifully. Written with real insight into d/s.

Divine Right, E, Original Fic, Princess/Male Knight - Really interesting world building and I really enjoyed the religious vibe of this though I didn't expect to. Very nice indeed.

Sunday Drive, M, Original Fic, OFC/OFC, 1950s lesbians! Lipstick Femme domming a down-on-her-luck butch hitchhiker. Delightful details and capers galore!

Better than Netflix, E Original Fic, OFC/OMC. I liked this a lot because it showed kink in long terms established relationship and felt very real. Interesting bondage and orgasm denial scenario and cute domesticity.

The Right Answer, E, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Jadzia Dax/Kira Nerys - In character and great use of future tech for bondage. Would sure love a set of those reaction control system thrusters...

The Same Coin, E, Babylon 5, Lyta/Lennier - Lyta and Lennier sublimating their lovehatelove of Delenn with each other. Dark, dubious consent, but very well done.

The Best, E, Aquaman, Arthur/Mera - Just super fun 'Arthur loves to take it from his gf's Atlantean strap-on' fic. I love how enthusiastic and fun the sex in this is. And I mean, the mental images are very gratifying.

tomorrow (promise me), E, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jyn/Cassian - A little angsty, very in character, working out some issues with kinky sex and mild blood play story. Enjoyed!
