I agree with your take on why McBeck works - Carson yields but only so far, he may humour Rodney quite a bit but never takes any shit from him.
I'm not planning on writing a sequel - at least at the moment, as I have several other fics to finish first. I'm really flattered though that you would like to see some more of this.
