I haven't watched past S1 either because, well, too much trouble trying to download the eps from somewhere.
Heh. Oops, sorry. Apparently I didn't really understand how you wanted them explained. Okay, here goes, then.
#1 I'd love to say that it has a Deep and Philosophical meaning but mostly? It's just pretty. ...ish. I made it for practise in Photoshop, trying out techniques I hadn't used before. #3 Just in case you can't tell, the cap is from Rising, from the chair scene. I loved the scene because it demonstrated from the very beginning of the show the special relationship that Rodney and Carson have. Furthermore, when taken out of the contest, it's Rodney reaching out to Carson, which... yo! That's what I love about them, that's what in my heart makes them special: that feeling that they can depend on each other, both lean on each other and offer support, be raw and open without some macho shit getting in the way, something that - in my opinion - other pairings on the show don't have. The keywords for the icon come from PJ Harvey's One Line (listen for lyrics), a song that I've for some reason always associated with the pairing.

I hope that was more satisfying. *G*
