Writing this next bit took probably the longest, relatively speaking. I needed to get the men from the hallway further into the flat while at the same time giving the reader some idea of how Ray lived. It’s a transitory scene, moving people from point a to point b, and by god it was painful to write. It’s not organic, but carefully constructed and that shows.

I liked that you talked about this in here, because above all, sex and fighting or anything else, this is something I find the hardest to write. The transitions always seem wooden and I always just choose to skip them and just let the reader imagine them happening. Which is often confusing and not very constructive to the story.

I think most things that people write are carefully constructed. At least for me, there are very few passages in my own work that are truly organic and flow without me having to work to get them out. I think writing itself is a very un-organic product, because you do go over it and change things and construct layers from nothingness.

On the cock sucking hobby. The way I read it was that it was Ray's imagination, something that he wanted to impose upon Chris, something that made what he did more understandable, more okay. Like he is telling himself "He wanted it all along, he needs it, he's done it before", just to justify it to himself.

Personally for me I don't like spanking, just because I think so many people make it so..... artificial... I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for. But you made it so sudden and so much inside the actual scene that it read as something part of the sex instead of something that had to be set up separate from it.

So well done commentary. X)
