razorxrosary has gone and written The Dark Knight bandom AU which is a level of gritty sharp brilliance previously unknown. "One More Murder" (R - Patrick/Pete, Bob/Patrick) features Bob as Batman, Pete as Harvey Dent and Patrick as the no-nonsense DA caught between them and a lethal game played in the Gotham's bleak streets. Look out for a wide cast of other familiar faces in other roles... Seriously, Joker could not have been anyone else. The style is sparse and brutal in a way that leaves plenty of story between the lines for the reader to figure. Have a quote:Bob slams the Joker up against the wall, wanting to knock that ugly smirk off his face, wanting to shake the adoring sparkle from his eyes. “Where’s Pete Wentz?”
(Beyond the glass, Jon quiets the uneasy onlookers with a soft murmur. “He’s got it under control…”)
“No, no, no.” The Joker tuts. “If you want them back, you have to play my game.”
Bob freezes. “… ‘Them’?”
“You know, for a while there, I actually thought you were Wentz.” Another giggle bubbles from the Joker’s grinning mouth. “The way you threw yourself after that Assistant DA. Such a pretty thing…”
Patrick, Bob thinks. Then he sees red.
“Oh, look at you go!” crows the Joker. “Did Wentz know about you and his little bunny? Hm?”
The two-way mirror shudders satisfyingly when Bob smashes the Joker’s head into it.
“Where are they?”
“Tell you what,” says the Joker. “You get to choose. That’s all killing is, really. Making a choice.”
