Afternoon people,

It was my last day at the boring p/t job today. I now have a week off (well as 'off' and a PG student ever gets) before uni tutoring kicks in again. Anyway, as a reward I have saved the newest episode of SPN until today.

Spoilers and disjointed flailing ahead.

Revisiting the shape-shifter lore! Score 1 for continuity.

And yes, [profile] sugaration, I can relate to your new fondness to plaid. Although to be fair, JA could wear a hemp sack and still be the hottest thing this side of the Sun.

Oh Dean, being outright sleazy, playing the Fox Mulder card of "woe the loneliness, the secrets, the rugged good looks"...  And the skanky-ho sales girl falls for it.
Is it me though or does Dean actually look reluctant to take things beyond casual flirting? At her offer of "private interview" he looks distinctly uncomfortable. All talk and no walk, nowadays Dean? Sam's bitch more like it.

The part where the boys slap their fake FBI badges against the glass... Oddly hot.

Ah bless, we have genuine UFO-nut so the X-Files homage can continue... It's like my first love and my current one making out on the park bench.

Cybermen! LMAO! T2! Mandroids! Oh Dean, you big closet geek!

And this Resnik guy has it all figured out! Except of course for the part where it's not a mandroid but a shape shifter. But everything else is accurate and then... And then Sam lies to his face. And you can tell that Dean expected him to actually tell the truth to this guy. And, and I'm not sure what I really think about that. It was just a pretty creepy how well Sam lied there. You can tell Dean was creeped out about it as well.

Dean saying "okey-dokey" is unnaturally cute and adorkable.
Dean checking out woman's ass on cctv *snort*
By the by, what's happened to Sam's sense of humour. He's not responding to any of Dean's wisecracks despite his best efforts. I mean even when things have been tough, there' always been some bater between the boys but so far... nothing. Sam's like a brickwall.

Oh Ronald. "This is not a robbery." I quite like this guy. I want a story right now where he ends up becoming a hunter and riding with the Winchesters for a while. He and Dean will bond over Terminator and Doctor Who (which Dean sekritly downloads when Sam's asleep). Ronald and Sam would have a strained relationship at first on account of Sam's lying but would eventually bond over their shared love of fancy coffee (the first time they both order a double vanilla latte with cinnamon and brown, not white, sugar is a bit awkward). Then eventually Dean has the brilliant idea to introduce Ronald to Ash and the two of them hit if off like nothing else and take to the road with Ash's old minivan and all the doohickies the two of them can build. And they'll become the tech-guys of Hunter community, the guys you go to when you need something incredibly complex and technological done on the hush-hush. Seriously, wouldn't it be the best thing ever? Someone should write this now!

Erm. Got a bit distracted there.

On a shallow note: Thank you Ronald for making Dean and Sam kneel. Been looking forward to that for a while now...

Sam *earnest hands*: "We're not working for the mandroid!"
ahahahahaaa

And of course Dean has a blade in his boot. "I wasn't going walk in here naked."
How much do I love the fact that he feels naked without weapons? An unholy amount.

Sam's bitchface when Dean volunteers himself as a hostage. And again at the vault.
Bank girl: Who is that man?
Sam: He's my brother
Bank girl: He's sooo brave *dreamy sigh*
Sam: *eyeroll*
ahahahaaaa

Eugh! Discarded shape-shifter skin. Yuck.
But this means that the shape shifter is somewhere in the vault with Sam??
Or is it Ronald? WTF?

It's very cool to see the boys in an urban setting again. And also the fact that their activities have drawn the attention of the law enforcement and the media...

And it's disturbing(ly hot) that Dean is so familiar with the proper way to conduct a bank robbery...

Sam is not amused by the girl gushing over Dean's heroics.

Wait, wait, wait. Is that not!Dean releasing people from the vault? Because where did he get the gun??

Okay, maybe not. But what's Sam problem? Is it me or does he seem to be on a constant bad mood this episode? What the hell happened between the eps, because the last we saw of him he was rather content after securing that promise of Dean? Huh?

He is rather hot though, being all demanding with the police.

OH NO! RONALD! NOOOOOOOOOO.... *wails* cool scene though
Oh I really loved the way Sam slid next to Dean. It was like a two-second of touching base with each other before splitting up. Although Dean didn't look too happy about Sam buggering off after the shifter.

Dean's little "we're so screwed" to himself...

Ack! Is the shifter's posing as and FBI agent now?

HOSHIT! "You're not the typical suspect are you Dean?"  Dean's face!
and "Yes I know all about Sam, Bonnie to your Clyde."
Dean: "Well, that much is true."
erm, yeah, you do know that Bonnie and Clyde were supposedly passionately in love and very much doing the wild thing and went down in flames together rather than die apart? Oh. Actually, that comparison fits surprisingly well.

And then the shifter(?)/agent goes on dissing John. cue Dean daddy-angst.

The agent gets the good lines though. "Crazy is in there. And I just hung up on it."

No, the shifter is now the bank girl. Or maybe there's two of them?

Except, wait it's not Sheri. Or it was Sheri but isn't anymore. And then Dean's getting his ass kicked by the girl-shifter and the fucking SWAT team is bursting in and and and

HA! Sam knocks-out the SWAT team guys! Awesome!

SHIT DEAN GET THE FUCK OUT! noooooo, too late.

WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE WHAT HAPPENED? The FBI guy wasn't a shifter after all?  And no, no, no, they're desecrating the Metallicar! What, no, aaaaaaaaaah, it's Sam and Dean after all! Jesus fuck, I totally fell for that. And Renegade on the background with the heartbeats and Dean's "we're so screwed" and and and CONSEQUENCES PEOPLE. That's what it was all about, their actions finally catching up on them.

Really liked this episode, the plot twists sure had me confused. I felt really bad for Ronald, I was really hoping he'd get to be recurring character (seriously people I would love me some fic about Ronald and Ash, the hunter-geeks extraordinaire)  Loved the fact that their job just got that much more dangerous now that the freaking FBI is on their case. Still curious as to what happened to Sam's sense of humour. Bring on the next episode!
