honestly, good 50% of the appeal of university/college AU fics is make believe about Actual Studying. like, sure, the romance is nice but in the meanwhile, catch me wistfully sighing over the descriptions of group study sessions in library or coffee shop, the stress of getting that reading finished before the class, or working hard toward assignments and projects. don't get me wrong, i am Here for the endless rom com drama of awkward flirting, mutual pining and meddling friends but honestly? from the bottom of my overworked academic heart? the learning is where it's at, the real fantasy element of this stories.
[this post brought to you by that one student who upon hearing that a lecture was cancelled due to strike emailed me to ask if that meant the lecture was now online instead. and that other student who emailed complaining because they couldn't find any of the readings 'for free' which was true for the value that they'd googled it and didn't find them but extremely untrue for the value that they were all accessible via the library that they had not checked despite the highlighted 'ebook available via library' i had literally put after the reference]
