Very nice.
Don't fret about the duvet. My sister-in-law got duvets for a wedding present in 1970. We turned them down in 1969 because they were all feather - and I'm allergic - couldn't have then till hollowfibre arrived. A landlady probably wouldn't have provided them but Sam might have bought one in a posh shop or from a catalogue. Anyone with any experience of continental travel would have known about them. Sam would have known anyway, from today, and might well have sought one out. And you don't have to have covers - you can treat a duvet like an 'eiderdown' and have two sheets. If his sheets were tangled that's obviously what he did!
I'm away from Thursday (Connotations - hope you're with us in spirit)and back next Wednesday (11th).
