I have some good news for you! Whilst they do stay in the motel for the whole series (though Alexis and David venture out), the wallowing is not constant! All of them will absolutely start trying new things and stretch themselves in both relationships/friendships and professional endeavours, and much of the comedy and the feels comes from the Roses navigating all of that. And like I said, the whole 'this is not what I wanted/expected, but turns out it's maybe better' is a big part of the arch.
