Yes, I sort of slid onto my knees ala Jack whilst his life was sucked out by the big bad, I mean there were arms thrown wide and hihg-pitched noises and everything. Luckily I was on my own, though the neighbours may have been praying for my soul again.
The bit where Ianto smells Jack's coat, that was heart-wrenching. It's quite sad though because it seems pretty clear that Ianto cares more for Jack than Jack does for Ianto. As soon as he took the coat I was pointing at the telly going "sniff it man, sniff it!" And yes, I believe our Ianto has some very conflicting and unhealthy feelings toward Jack.
I got the similarity to the Buffy (what with all the loved ones coming in visions) but by that time I was too far gone to care. Honestly, I think it requires at least five watching before Igain anything resembling a critical distance to this.
The thing is, I don't think there is anyone at the moment who's keeping Jack there. I believe he would leave it all (yes, even Ianto, please nobody hit me with a shovel) in a heartbeat for an opportunity to be united with the Doctor (and Rose, who he obviously doesn't know about). It's clearly not going to happen, at least not in the long-term, and this has lots of potential for angst.
