I’m not going to comment on 1.09 or 1.10 except to say that Lord Much is pure love, bath scenes are the win, Djaq has something up her sleeve, tattooed shirtless people sword fighting is never bad, and that I have so many plot bunnies for adoption that I feel another post on robinhoodficreq coming up in a few days… Anyone who wants some should keep an eye out.

Oh come on, the guards helmets aren’t that deceiving! Guy is practically nose to nose with Allan and Robin and still somehow doesn’t recognise them. That’s just silly, especially considering that he and Robin have been in pretty close physical proximity several times in the past… In fact, from the way they’ve rolled around in the mud and slapped each other around, Guy can probably tell the exact shade of Robin’s eyes and should recognise him by his smell alone.
Sheriff gets the best lines: “Gallantry. It’s not dead. Well, not yet.”
Loving the fact that Much and Djaq have a chance to bond work together in this episode.
Oooh I sort of wanted John to kill the sheriff. Except for the fact that as dark and sexily brooding Guy is, he just doesn’t make a good Arch Enemy.
At least John gets to lay one on him! Nice right hook!
Guy finding the Sheriff gagged and tied to the torture device. *glee* Holy Iron Maiden, Batman, will the kinky bondage references ever stop in this series? Apparently not.
Little-family are having teary goodbyes… my eyes are king of moist as well… I blame the hormones.
Oh god, John needs to find a new love now… Please let there be some happiness for him, pretty, pretty please!
General: I loved getting an episode focused on John. And yet… despite being at the centre stage I feel that his character was somehow underused. The father-son moments were genuinely touching (then again I might be talking out of my ovaries) and the ending opens up new avenues. Well, at least it should. John’s character and motivation was always very much about his family and now that they are gone… What’s going to fill that place in his life? (fic writers: this here is your first assignment).
The Robin/Marian/Guy triangle seemed less sparkly than usual, everyone was pretty but that was about it. There have certainly been more charged moments between them (in all various permutations) and I hope we’ll see more of those in the future.
Keith Allen was in top form as usual; so spine-shivering ruthless, yet doing it with such delicious flair that I find it hard to hate him that much.
My dirty little slasher heart exploded at seeing so many Will/Allan moments. There was the two of them meandering around Nottingham, looking all partnery, not to mention all those long lingering looks (oh come one, you saw them too!) communicating worry and reassurance and that whole I-won’t-let-anything-happen-to-you vibe Allan was giving Will throughout… (fic writers, here is your second assignment for the evening: what if something did go wrong? What if it was Will’s face being pushed to the fire? What if the two of them were forced to take the role-play just a bit farther than in the show?)

Will and Allan were certainly in the slashy spotlight tonight. And Guy's little smirk of pride when the Sheriff liked his idea made me grin quite irrationally.
Personally I think Little John's motivation will still be his family... they're alive and well, but he will still want to make Little Little John proud of him and make sure the family gets everything they should. And I want them to come back.
I could have had more Much, but his moments of brilliance and angst will tide me over to next week. And Lord Much? In the bath? With Robin? Outstanding Moment of the Series.

Yes, I saw Guy's pleased smirk and and their hail-fellow-well-met vibe and totally thought "well well, someone's gotten lucky lately..." I'm shameless, I really am.
I'm not convinced Alice and Little John will reappear, the ending seemed pretty final to me, i.e. they were off to start a new life with a new provider... But maybe. I really liked Alice's character so would certainly enjoy seeing more of her.
Yes, Much didn't have lots to do today, but keeping in mind that I just watched the previous two eps today as well... I'm feeling quite brimming with Much love.
And Lord Much? In the bath? With Robin? Outstanding Moment of the Series. If this was an award category I would totally vote for this. On the other hand, now we know Guy wants to have sex with Marian. I mean, we did before, but now he's actually come straight out and told her. Now Marian has a Terrible Choice: which is going to protect her better, sex or virtue? At least, I have faith that that will be the choice, rather than the apparently obligatory Marian-about-to-be-raped scene.

despite being at the centre stage I feel that his character was somehow underused - it was the weirdest thing, the ep was about him and yet...he just wasn't there. The ep didn't really flesh out the character much because we already knew that he loved his wife and son. Don't quite know what happened with this one. At leas the got to knock Robin out again - it's not really an ep of Robin Hood without the old Little John + Robin = unconsciousness. Bit of a filler ep I felt, but fun nonetheless.
Season finale looms ever closer and the expectations are running high - oh, fingers crossed. But from what I've seen it's looking good. Here's hoping...

Which is why a part of me is sort of glad that his family is far away now... Perhaps we get to see some other sides of his character now. But yes definitely a filler episode. That said, I'm still high from all the Much-goodness from the previous eps which I only saw today *eyes glaze at the thought of the bath scene and heart clenches at the thought of Much's Holy Land angst*
