OMG LOVED IT! Have nothing very constructive to say here...  Matt Smith knocked it out of the ballpark. I liked how he so clearly made the character his own. Amy was interesting (and I totally called the fact that she's avoiding her own wedding), and the steampunkish TARDIS (the sexy thing!). The preview trailer looked awesome and omg River Song!!! Fuck yeah, I'm glad to see they're doing something with her storyline.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam. And that's all I've got to say about it.

...Well, okay that and the fact that Chris has now totally moved in with Ray and is helping him to pick out clothes and calling him 'Sir' both at work and home.

Also: THE MUSIC WAS AWESOME, FUCKING RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES LOL FOREVER.

PROFESSIONALS REFERENCE AHAHAHA!

Oh, and it's fascinating because most of my Thesis interviewees (serving police officers) have mentioned Life on Mars (unprompted) and confirmed that yeah, it really was like that back in the day.

But mostly: SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!

Aaaanyway, other awesome things:

- I can has wireless! Internet in the bedroom! ...um, that came out wrong...

- Additional housemate! Well, this is kind of a neutral thing... B's boyfriend P has moved in (there was some drama at his house). On minus side: more ppl in a smallish house, living with a boy. On plus side: more ppl paying the rent/internet so saving money. Also, i do like P, he's nice and funny, albeit a little too easily shocked (young and sheltered, we'll soon cure him of that)

- Twitter. I got one. I've even used it. Where are you all there, help me stalk you better?

- Easter hols! No teaching! Lots of writing (see below)! Scarborough with [livejournal.com profile] pushkin666 next week!

- NEED A BETA: Writing is easy like a dream at the moment, so have churned out 2,500 word SPN Gen fic about Bobby and Castiel, a tag of sorts to 5.15. Any beta takers? (psst, haven't seen 5.16 so please don't spoil me).

- Housemate B is plying me with wine and Chinese atm. EVERYTHING IS FUNNY RIGHT NOW.

- Hi, hi, ilu!

Same on Tweeetar as on LJ. Very very noisy on Tweetar. You may not want to follow someone who tweets every second minute to explain in allcaps and swears how much they HATE EDITING.

Have added. No worries about high traffic, am capable of using the scroll button if needed :D

Good luck with the editing, maybe the rage is helping you be ruthless?

It's certainly helping me to avoid ever writing this much like a wanker again. The first chapters were written 2.5 years ago and I appear to have developed a much lower tolerance for mauve descriptive passages and £20-words since then. *kills several sentences with a stick*

Ah yes, coming back to your own writing after a long period of time can be... educational, shall we say. And painful.

Apparently 2007-me doesn't know that ENORMOUS SUBCLAUSES are better off being a separate sentence. 2007-me really needed a kick in the crotch and a lot less cocaine.

It's shocking! Matt Smith has pushed buttons I didn't even know I had! Mr Smith? I would. I really really would.

And Sam was mentioned! And his picture was there! And it was all so very very nostalgic for LOM! Yayyy.

Ahahaha, tell me more about the buttons Matt Smith has pushed? I have to say my attraction is so far rather platonic.

I made dolphin noises when they showed Sam Tyler's photo... Oh baby, remember the hay days of LoM? Good times, got me some awesome friends from that fandom :)

Added you on Twitter!

I... I don't even know? There's just something - halfway through the episode I'm starting to melt and go "... nurgh <3" with not much reason for why. Is it the hair? Or the loose, limber thing? Maybe it was him being cuffed to the radiator (hello LOM reference!) or maybe it was EVERYTHING? :D

Oh, lovely LOM... I miss it so!

I already love Matt Smith's Doctor. He won me over within the first five minutes, he's fantastic. And I love Amy. And yay River! I'm so glad someone else likes her, she gets so much shit in fandom :(

Yeah, Matt Smith was awesome. I didn't really have any prejudices one way or the other so was happily surprised.

I'm so glad someone else likes her, she gets so much shit in fandom - I try to stay away from wank and don't frequent comms or boards (on this or any other fandom really, I kind of trust my flist to keep me up to date with the important stuff), but yeah, that's the impression I've gotten. I really like Alex Kingston (she was fab in E.R. and don't anyone tell me otherwise) and I'm really glad they're doing something with her storyline.

Loving Matt Smith. He just seems to get it. Also the new/old look tardis and they mentioned the swimming pool! I really like Amelia as well. I think she'll fit in well in the tardis although personally I draw the line at kissing but I'm old skool Dr Who :D.

And Sam. I kind of bounced a little bit and squealed when they mentioned him. I do hope though that they don't have Gene having killed him. Also the new Complaints guy is a moron. If you suspected somebody of killing someone would you tell them you did!!!

Heh I know you were excited about the swimming pool. Did you vomit at the fish fingers with custard scene? I thought you probably did...

Oh I miss Sam so much! There needs to be more Gene angsting after him and yeah would like them to clarify what exactly happened to him. And yeah, it was a rookie villain mistake, gloating about his victory before it's in the bag.

I really miss Sam as well. And Chris is totally calling Ray Sir at home and work and enjoying it.

It was a very rookie villain mistake.

The fishfingers and custard scene. Gross. Wonder how Matt Smith felt eating them!

And Gene was totally angsting about Sam as he looked out of his office at the rest of the team, still missing that place where Sam alway used to be.

Heh, someone said that the new Doctor should've turned out to love fruits and vegetables so as to show a good example for the kids :D Healthier than fish fingers and custard...

Aww, Sam really has left an empty space in Gene's heart...

And yes totally on Sam and Gene.

Watched new Who - C is not impressed but I think it looks good and he was in a bad mood anyway. Banana cake was yummy. Glad you're still enjoying your 'holiday'. Oh, and believe me, life was like that in the '70s.

I really, really liked the new Doctor. The boy's got big shoes to fill but I think he'll come to his own admirable.

Glad you enjoyed the banana cake. I'll give you the recipe if you like, it was dead easy.

Yes, today is still holiday. Back to transcribing interviews tomorrow I think...

Heh, I believe you...
