oh, i've had a weird experience of unexpectedly bumping into a huuuuge idol of mine. it was the most awkward and anticlimatic moment of my life, and afterwards i felt very proud of myself for not vomiting or seizuring. also, i managed to address him sir, which i still think was cool rather than creepy.
it was in 2003 or 2004 in london and the sir in question was mr mike patton, best known from faith no more, although you might recognize him from that one lovage track i've seen you mention. i'm deadly afraid of flying so i was on sedatives basically the whole time. it didn't really help with the fear but i have pleasantly trippy recollections from that weekend. eating breakfast on the grass in hyde park with my best friend is one of my happiest memories to date.
there, i've carefully avoided talking directly about that traumatic encounter. :P
