Hai thar! I’ve made a tradition of reading your review after watching every episode (had to download, so I’ve only seen them this past month) and now we’re at the finish, so I figured I had better comment for once. And I realize this post is almost a year old and you’ve probably moved to another fandom, but hey…I don’t care! :D
I’m a little surprised as I read other people’s reaction to the finale, as some seem to hate it while I thought it was the best episodes yet! That’s taste for you I guess; it will always be divided.
Now I’m mostly a Sheriff/Guy/Allan-girl, but the Robin/Much is really impossible to ignore, and Much is impossible not to love all on his own, so obviously I’ve been cheering for them too, and the lack of resolution has left me quite bitter, until the birthday bash! Where Much got all his feelings out and God it felt good! For me, but probably him as well, and everyone taking his side and Robin realizing that Much was right and guuuuh… *melts* I did, however, wish for a little more personal stuff, not just “I’m mean to you because I have nightmares about corpses”, but more like “I’m mean to you because I think that if I allow myself to truly look at you and accept your love then I might not be able to marry Marian after all”.
Carter had “molest me” written all over him. It was the hair, I tell you, the tussled hair. I didn’t even like him in “Get Carter”, but I squeed so much when he appeared with the King. And oh, the slash, the slash running rampant through the entire two episodes!
After the “Kissing in the moonlight”-scene, I thought, “I have to write a fic about this.” But then I realized that unless they actually had sex right there on the porch, I couldn’t have made it any more obvious. And then came Guy’s dream scene, and I pretty much died right there in my chair. Especially when Guy woke up and Vaisey held him down and Guy was all uncertain and nervous, as if he’s expecting molestation. (He probably did get molested; they just faded to black before we got to see it.) If they scale up the gay any more they’ll have to R-rate the show.
I'm kind of happy about Marion dying too actually, even though I shouldn't say it. It's just nice that the heroes can actually die in this show; it makes it more unpredictable and exciting. And of course Robin will be all about killing Guy now, won't he, and Guy will either go all broken and just be the Sheriff's puppet on a string or he'll attempt suicide and Allan will leave the gang again and come back to the castle because Giz needs him! *rambling*
