This is made more plausible to me by Patrick's characterisation. Like he comes across as quite traditional but just by changing his life, wholeheartedly going for David, how he's open to, at least in theory, to Jake's orgy nights and his non-reaction to the whole wedding day massage happy ending thing all suggest that he would be down with some ethical polyamory for sure.
I think he totally would be. You're right Patrick's one who comes across as a lot more "traditional" than he really is.
I genuinely loved the Stevie/David subplot (also, hottt) and I love where they ended up in canon. But I still kind of want to see a happy poly V with David in the middle and Stevie and Patrick as really good friends, and David and Patrick also wing-manning Stevie when she wants to go pick up some randoms. /i>
