It's my birthday and I am resisting the fuck out of dealing with work emails. I kind of thought about taking myself to the cinema to help with that but turns out there is nothing showing that I want to see. So instead, I'm spending it doing a random combination of things I enjoy

• Going out for coffee and brunch
• (was going to get a new piercing but the studio is closed on Mondays so maybe I will leave this until Easter now)
• Watching The Untamed (please I want to screech about this with someoneeeeeeeee)
• Rolling around in kpop vids and clips thanks to my ever-enabling flist
• Listening to Magic Triumphs, the last of the Kate Daniels series audiobook (well except for the side character books which I also have)
• Catching up with flist journals
• Cooking myself a steak for dinner
• Posting about two things I have Enjoyed Muchly lately; firstly a movie rec and a bit later I  have some reaction vids for youuuuu!

Firstly:

Thanks to bymokona for reccing this movie. If you've been around for more than like five mins you know that bdsm is my jam both in fandom and irl. Problem is that outside of transformative work, vast majority of mainstream d/s oriented media is AWFUL, majority of it is extremely het and majority of that aggressively female sub/male dom. Which... If that's your thing then rock on. Play safe, have fun irl, and good luck in finding some media that works for you. However, personally I cannot deal with that at all. Like even if fanfic if hetship even hints at that I am pressing a back button SO FAST. Just can't stomach it. It's a squick. You get it.

Anyway, back to the movie. What we have here is het. BUT

It's not a perfect movie because these things never are but it is miles and miles ahead a lot of mainstream d/s media I've seen and it is bdsm cottoncandy please if you are having a bad day and enjoy this premise even a little, give it a try. Here's the trailer:

I've been wanting to watch Love and Leashes -- I was hopeful based on the promos, but slightly anxious, so it's really good to hear that you liked it! And that it sounds like it followed through surprisingly and unsually well on what it seemed to be promising.

I am always up for more yelling about The Untamed!

It is a refreshingly good portrayal. Like there's some plot twists that I could do without but hands down one of the best d/s mainstream portrayals I've seen. Like, they're not perfect, they're learning, and communication is something you have to work at, but it's also fun. Would recommend.

I've just finished episode 25 and that was a lot of drama that happened and I had a lot of feelings about it... (why is no one using their worddddddssss?) I'm going to do more disjointed notes and screeching when I get to ep 30.

Actually just finished watching it, it was just the perfect pick me up! It was SO CUTE and sexy and fun and soooo many of my fave things rolled into one. ITA with all your squee :D I loved the little moments like after the scene where she tells him off for the first time, she's just giggling because she was so into it. I loved that arc-wise it was.. pretty much the cliched romcom but make it femdom, and that combination just worked so well?? And yes they had FUN! Just all around delightful. Thank you for the rec. :D

Oooh! Oh yay, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it. It was just so nice to see the fun frothy rom com but with femdom AND with the kink side treated with solid knowledge and respect, not as something sleazy or dubcon like. The fact that it started with platonic d/s was my favourite thing and yes, the scene where they're hiding from the cleaner after playing all over the empty office and giggling like school kids was fucking adorable.
