Have some links to articles etc that I've collected to pass on:
And now for some more visual stories, two adorable and gorgeous comics for you.

First this charming, f/f tale of mermaids and tattoos by charmingly antiquated. See the full thing on artist's Tumblr post but here's a first panel as a taster.

And second, Scaredy Cat, a wonderful story of a little kitten's Halloween adventure by Heather Franzen. Again, the full thing can be seen on the artist's site but have the first panel to get you hooked.

Not only is the perfect body a lie, sometimes you work really hard at a diet and you succeed in losing 143 pounds but you still have a face that could fucking crack glass so you still have no sex life and you still can't go shopping for clothes because even though you're not fat anymore they're still mostly too fucking little.
Bitter? oh, a tad.

'Beauty' standards and fashion industry give plenty to be bitter about. I've found that shopping online for clothes gives much better choice in terms of sizes and styles than going to highstreet shops. I'd give some recommendations for websites but they're all UK based so... :( There must be some good US online stores you can find with a little google-fu?

online/mail order is still not that helpful, i still have to try things on and they still tend to be too damn little.

:( That's a shame. At least you can then do that home rather than the store, though then there's the inconvenience of sending stuff back. I was just looking for dresses online myself and found a quite a few places (UK based) that did up to quite large sizes.

Thanks for the links. Interesting article about the stunt women.

You're most welcome. I'd never thought about the implications of gender representation for stunt actors so it was a really eye-opening read.

Given I've got a thing for mermaids and for tattoos, it's right up my street/down my alley :-)
