Midnight Tea on AO3
She brews the tea when she can see the stars. Not every night, of course, sometimes the stars witness blood-soaked battle, exhausted sleep, press of flesh that’s as much about reassurance as it is about pleasure.
But on nights when no one is dying or desperate for a reason to live, Teyla boils water, pours it over dried leaves, lets it seep until the gentle aroma of it drifts into the air, winds its way around her heart like an embrace.
Sometimes, she drinks alone and that is good, necessary too. Sometimes, with others and that is better, love distilled.
