Glorious indeed!! Such a twist to the plot, with gender-swapped casting. And then the echoes of the original where of course Kate would have been played by a boy but so would 'her' suitor. Thanks for the link!

I loved the show so much. And it was just so interesting to get a glimpse into an almost parallel universe where matriarchy was the basis of society.

Yes, glorious! And the actors were carrying it off really well. It put me in mind of the Astreiant novels by Melissa Scott, which are set in a matriarchal society.
