Broadstairs Bacchanalia

***

kat_lair, dreamersdare and pushkin666 are plotting a fannish weekend in Broadstairs in September.

Broadstairstintype corner purplewording2

Broadstairs is in the Garden of England (Kent), and is situated on the South-East coast. Think quaint English sea side town, with excellent fish and chips, ice cream, local beer and cider and fannish fun.

The plan is for it to start Friday afternoon and go through to Sunday lunchtime. Programme is a WIP, but will be quite easy going, including hang outs, fannish things, vids, going out for a meal, sand, sea and ice cream.

Depending on numbers we might look into booking a function room, or equivalant rather than cramming into Kat's living room/garden, which would mean a small fee to cover costs.

Before we go completely overboard with the planning (la la), we would like to know if you would be interested in joining us for Broadstairs Bacchanalia 2014.

Please comment below if you think you could join us and with the weekend(s) that you prefer.

5th - 7th
12th - 14th
19th - 21st
26th - 28th

Feel free to pimp, or pass on details of this.

You know I'd say yes anyway, but nowadays it all depends on (a) wheelchair access, (b) funds, (c) availability of assistance in getting dressed etc. (which I know you probably wouldn't mind helping with as you have before, but again it would depend where I was staying, wouldn't it?) and (d) Gem-sitting.

Oh, and one of those weekends is Ramsbottom Festival (folk) but I forget which, and unless one of my major folk people is going (which I don't know yet) I'd probably be willing to ditch that for you anyway.

Yes hun, I know it would be difficult for you and sadly Broadstairs in general is one of the less wheelchair friendly places I know. Lots of narrow streets, often too narrow for a wheelchair. And my place is surrounded by them and has steps to get into on one side and uneven garden path on the other :(

Depending on the numbers we'd look at maybe renting a function place and people might stay in surrounding B&Bs, some of which would of course be accessible though unlikely to the degree your average chain hotel would be.

Saying all that, what I am planning on doing is visiting Manchester at some point this spring/summer so we can have our own fannish and otherwise catch up thing. *snugs you*
