My first fandom love

Hee! Just noticed that the Living TV is airing The X-Files, starting with the Pilot in ten minutes! I shall be watching, wallowing in nostalgia and quoting the dialogue all the way... Yes, I was just that obsessed.

NOBODY DOWN HERE BUT THE FBI'S MOST UNWANTED!
*fangirl glee*

PS. Why don't I have an X-Files icon? I should totally have one, never mind that I don't have any room, because X-FILES DUDES!
And now I do! Several, though unfortunately I can only use one at a time. Thank you to [profile] hullfire for pointing me in the right place.

LOL remember watching this at uni and waiting for my friend as I didn't want to watch it alone!

I was sixteen when the show started in Finland. I taped the Pilot because it aired late on a school night and watched it the following day. I was home alone and remember having to pause the tape repeatedly because it was just so absolutely terrifying. Watching it now just makes me giggle and bounce in fangirl glee but back then... There'd never been nothing quite like it in telly before and for me it was love at first sight.

see above. I was terrified when I watched it as a teenager, but this is the show I totally grew up with.

I remember that I fell in love with the theme tune before anything else. It was spooky, and sinister and just so utterly cool.

Woo ooo woo ooo ooo da da da daa!

oh baby, you're talking to the chick who has Songs in the Key of X. And Fight the Future soundtrack. And even the Truth and the Light. Mark Snow WINS. *geeks out*

I completely missed this on TV, but I do remember there being one episode on when I was waiting to go on a school French trip that I just had on in the background very late at night... Mulder was in an orange jumpsuit and apparently on trial, so I knew I'd missed some fairly vital plot.

I did buy the first series boxset, though. And loved it. The ones with the creepy stretchy guy made me shudder. But I just kinda exploded at the episode with Seth Green in *fangirls*

Mulder's trial would have been one of the later episodes... The first 5-6 seasons were great but things started going slowly downhill after that.

The stretchy guy, i.e. Eugene Tooms was a great Monster Of the Week. He was is two episodes in season 1 and... Erm. I did mention that I was rather obsessed with the series?

I've.. never seen the Pilot. I wonder how much it'd cost to buy all the season dvds.

It was love at first sight for me after seeing the Pilot. When I'm filthy rich (what? it could happen.) I will buy all the seasons on DVD (along with maybe 3493572039 other tv-programmes) and lie on the sofa for month watching them and eating mint-chocolate ice cream out of tub... Niiiiice.
