Yes, absolutely - accidental beginnings are something I realize I really enjoy reading and writing in fic, as it's a reflection of how a lot of us come by things! And it's certainly not a bad thing to draw from your own experiences to enhance a character... I was definitely channeling Gerard in my fic, someone who won't shut up in a room full of people but who likes to totally give over control behind closed doors.
