Robin Hood Drabbles: Caesura, Impromptu, Deal
lolabobs had a birthday a while back and she asked for Robin Hood drabbles. Sorry for the angst darling…
Robin Hood – Much/Robin – PG-13
(This is a sort of a coda to if you are the rhyme and i the refrain)
Caesura
(prompt: Much taking control)
“Robin.”
He hadn’t expected to hear that tone again, not this soon. Robin freezes on the edge of the fire.
He starts to turn around but a grip on his arm holds him still. “Don’t,” Much says. “This will be easier if I’m not looking at you.”
Robin shifts, wary. He’s still sore from earlier.
“Today was the last time.”
Robin wants to argue because it had been the first time since the
“I can’t, Robin. Not like this.”
They are out of options then. Because Robin can’t either. Not any other way.
Robin Hood – implied Guy/Robin – PG-13
Impromptu
(prompt: power)
He should have run when he had the chance. But Robin is tired of daring escapes, of leaving things unfinished.
“Still here, Hood?” Gisbourne spits blood onto the floor, getting to his feet slowly.
Robin eyes the door, thinks he could still make it, decides not to try. “Looks like.”
This is not how they do things. They wage their war from a distance, through other people, in front of an audience, not like this; confined and private and unscripted.
Gisbourne takes a step closer, fists clenching. Robin feels the control slip away from both of them.
Anything could happen.
Robin Hood – Gen – PG-13
Deal
(prompts: Sheriff & Much, it's all about Robin)
The hands smell like rose water, cradling Much’s face between them. “He won’t last long. You know it. You can hear it.”
Much does. The sounds of the dungeon burrow under his skin at night like poison, like grief.
“You can make it stop. Save your Master. Isn’t that your duty, hmm?” The Sheriff fists Much’s hair, lifting his head. “What do you say, old boy? You give me what I want and—”
“The camp.” Much looks the Sheriff straight in the eye. Every breath is a struggle. “I’ll show you.”
Down the hall, Robin screams again; wordless and hoarse.

But thank you anyway. Getting an emotional reaction out of readers is a win in my books.
I SAW OMG!!!!! Haven't read yet because I need to eat my dinner first because I'm afraid it would be messy if I tried to chew and squee at the same time.

Seriously. I can't stop thinking about that last image. I always had this idea in my head of Much being captured by the Sheriff and Robin trying desperately to save him, but I think your one is better/worse, depending on how you look at it. I DEMAND FOLLOW UP ANGSTY H/C. *slams fist on table*
It's okay; take your time. I'm only popping in to answer this comment because the BAFTAs are on intermission. Um. Hi!
