There is fandom life in the Nort-West of England... Isn't there?

connotations is just voting on this year's panels and they all look so awesome and because I couldn't afford the con this year I don't get to go to any of them. :(((((((((((((

moth2fic and I were considering trying to set up a North-West slashers' (or fandom in general though it would have to be slash tolerant) group but never did. Now I'm thinking about it again (moth2fic is in Portugal but I feel she would be encouraging me if she knew about this - apparently people have a vested interest in me participating in social activities? Possibly they think it will make me less likely to just snap one day?)
Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway. So, UK people. Slash/fandom meet-ups in the North-West? Thinklondon_slashers / london_fen only in the Leeds/Manchester/Liverpool axis and well, anything within commuting distance. Good idea? Live in the general area and interested? Know others who might be?
I'm really just trying to canvas interest at the moment to see if it's worth setting up a comm etc. So please drop me a comment if you are interested and please pimp the post if you think you have people on your friends list who are in the area and would possibly like to get involved.
