Author notes: This is the fic I wrote for pushkin666 for the Lewis Secret Santa Exchange over at lewis_challenge where it was originally posted way back in December. There is three books worth of story in my head for this, to go before and after the events herein, but it is unlikely it’ll ever materialise into a fic. It is thus my hope that this ‘snippet’ is self-contained enough to stand on its own. Thank you to moth2fic for a great last-minute beta job.
